ACA, medicaid and recent notices

Some people who are approved for the extended medicaid through the state exchange ACA stuff have recntly recieved notices that they were denied medicad for the least 3 months of 2013 due to not showing up for a scheduled interview, even though there was no interview scheduled.

After talking in depth with HHS, they said it was a right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing thing. People who signed up had their application automatically sent through to DSHS for monetery relief, HEN referral (housing). The notice reads that because of this, medicaide for Oct-Dec has been denied. And no, interviews were not scheduled.

DSHS said that the expanded medicaid after Jan 1 will work, and apologizd profusely for the confusion and error. Both people I talked with knew exactly what had been sent out and that they'd spent the last few days fielding calls.
