YWCA to break ground on 7-story building in Belltown

YWCA is poised to break ground on a new seven-story apartment building in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood, replacing a century-old affordable housing complex at Second Avenue and Battery Street.

Construction on the approximately $56.5 million project is slated to start in the fall, with demolition beginning in mid-July, YWCA representatives told the Business Journal.

The building is expected to open by August 2028.

The development at 2402 Second Ave. will serve low-income households earning up to 50% of the area median income.
