What kind of app do I download from the Chrome web store in order to install .exe or .ini software?

I get a message telling me to do that when I try to install a wi-fi signal booster to my Chromebook 7, but absolutely no hint whatsoever of what app to look for in order to install the booster.

Not sure, but if it's not malware I would expect it to load instantly. nt NYC_SKP Sep 2013 #1
you're trying to install a Windows driver on an Android machine. hobbit709 Sep 2013 #2

In Linux you could use ndiswrapper to put an .ini file into the system so the wifi would work. Not sure if Android works the same way or even has that built into it.

I was unable to install ANYTHING Windows related on it. The theory is that you go through Google for everything you need: web apps, browsing, email, cloud storage, etc. If you need an app, you download it from the Chrome app store into your Google Chrome browser.

This is why I gave up on it, besides the fact I gave my CR-48 to my son lol To put it simplistically, it's pretty much the Google Chrome browser on steroids. If you only need to do basic things and you can stay connected to the internet, it's fine. Otherwise...not so much.
