May your journeys take you to places of peace and happieness... - Hillary Clinton Group

It is with sadness that I am permanently leaving DU. I thought that I could hold out until Skinner took DU into general
election mode but the vile posts, the pure hate coming from the Sanders supporters and the alert stalking has made up my mind.
My autistic son...who has been bullied for years by the same type of people that have infested DU read one of the posts over my shoulder and asked me why I was so upset. "just turn off the bullies dad". He was absolutely right.

That is exactly what I have to do.

I will still be posting political blogs and pics on my Facebook page and volunteering at my local Clinton campaign office and continue the fight elsewhere but without the poison. I came here in 2012. DU was a great place to share political info and gain knowledge and wisdom. I leave a place that I do not even recognize and I cannot support any longer. I cannot even stand to visit now.

Tomorrow I will PM Skinner to permanently remove me as I don't see a way for me personally to deactivate my account. I will also remove all links to this site from my Facebook page and my computer to help with not being tempted to come back. The Facebook deletion is also is because I cannot in good conscious have any of my friends or family come here from my link and experience the same pain and negativity. Maybe in the future it will be a place to post safely again. But I wont ever be back.

Thank you all here in the Clinton group for being a ray of light in the darkness. Sorry to give up the fight here but my health and sanity (and self worth) have taken too much of a beating already in my 50+ years and I don't need it here X3.

Good luck to you and blessings. I hope things get better.

I do hope the Admins will find a way to make this a positive place to hang out in again.
I know that I feel better when I stay away from here lately.
Good luck to you.

I wish you and your wonderful son love, peace and happiness.

From a long-time DUer, but a relative newbie to the Clinton group (and I agree with your assessment - it's a small area of calm in the hyperactive chaos that DU has become), best of luck to you and your family and keep on fighting the good fight.

I don't even go into those forums where it runs rampant except for juries.. so I know what you mean.. but, I stopped reading anything of theirs long ago.

I'm here to support Hillary, President Obama, and the Dem party with kindred spirits.. and here we are.. in Hillary's Group.

We are the Winners and they're the Losers.. That's what this whole year has come down to. DU isn't what America looks like..

This is America..

You probably don't have to PM Skinner about being deleted.

I left once for over 2 years, intending not to return, and what I did was simply delete all my files: every bookmark, everything in my inbox/outbox, my journal, and every scrap of personal information in my profile and account. I've left for somewhat shorter periods as well.

On the other hand, there was also someone who deliberately changed his password, threw it away, and logged out forever knowing he'd never be able to get back in.

Just sayin'

But I digress. It's bad, bad, bad. Skinner is overwhelmed, I can tell. He's going to bring down the hammer in about a month, but I have lost hope of permanent change after enduring 8 years of Obama-bashing. Unless Skinner seriously bans a bunch of people outright, our relative peace here will cease after the November election. So I don't know what to say.

I don't go into GDP unless summoned for a jury, but then I end up wandering around and I can literally feel my blood pressure rising. I feel infuriated for a long time after I leave. The place is utterly toxic and overflows onto everything else.

The thing about DU though -- anyway my personal theory about why so many people end up returning despite swearing they won't ever -- is that is has the gravitational pull of a small dense planet. There are a bajillion special interest groups, and a lot of people just disappear into them for ages.

Go in peace, return when and if you want.

completely understand. I may not be far behind you. What a cesspool this place has become.

What's that saying? You can never come home again............DU will never return to what it was before. It will remain forever changed. It's not the admins..........it's the people. They are different then those that came before. Folks will just continue with the rage and hate until I guess the last person standing lowers the flag and turns off the lights. It's not just DU it's the country. It's the age of entitlement and the hell with common sense, morals or decency. If you don't get what you want when you want you yell, scream, intimidate and bully until you wear out the competition. The hell with truth and honesty.

Good luck my friend and may you find peace outside this black hole.

Over the last 10 months here, the prevailing atmosphere and general mood have become increasingly toxic and turbulent.

Anti-Hillary and anti-Dem vitriol
is gratuitously and continuously spewed in ALL forums, not just in the politically oriented ones.

We're not even safe from the fanatical, foul-mouthed alert swarmers here in our own HRC haven.

Just know that you're always welcome, if you should decide to come back, even if just to lurk.

And, bravo on your political activism in the real world. Carry on!
