60% of Canadians who vacation outside of Canada vacation in Cuba, mainly because it's unlikely we will ever see an American there. The most inviting thing about Cuba is no Americans.

They said they dread the time the floodgates open and the US Americans storm the place and tear it up. I believe them.

I hope when it happens, Cuba will be able to control what happens to its land and people, but I'm not betting on anything.

Cuba used to be a rest and recreation area for the US Navy prior to the revolution.

Cuba controls the "floodgate", not the USA. Even when the US travel ban is finally ended, Cuba won't be able to handle the demand - not enough infrastructure to accommodate them all. It'll take time to build out what might be needed. Of course, it will be up to Cubans in Cuba to determine how much US tourism they actually want.

treated with respect, the way the tourists up to this point have conducted themselves.

It should be important to screen the visa applications very well.

Just look at all this oppression! The desperation! All the misery and the chaos imposed by the totalitarian Stalinist dictatorship of the Castro brothers taking away the people's dignity and liberty!

And to think how much they are missing by not being allowed to enjoy the freedom and peace brought by neoliberalism and savage capitalism...

Poor fools... don't know what they are missing.
