Havana.- Nearly one million Cubans are expected to march May Day on Havana's Revolution Square, venue of celebrations tomorrow for International Worker's Day.
The huge march will open with a bloc of health professionals, who have carried out an outstanding work in other countries of the world, PL news agency reported.
The health workers will be followed by those who dedicate their efforts to inventions that contribute to production and the recovery of important machinery. The national innovation association includes 214 thousand members, who will join the march on Friday.
The Cuban Worker's Confederation called the march to reaffirm the Cuban people´s determination to keep fighting for socialism and to contribute solutions that help face current challenges posed by the US economic blockade of Cuba.
May Day celebrations will also count on the participation of several solidarity brigades and representatives of social and union organizations from other countries of the world.
Following the big celebrations on Cuban squares, an international solidarity encounter will be held in Havana on May 2 with the participation of over 150 thousand delegates from 28 countries from all continents.
The countries with the largest delegations at the forum are the United States, France, Uruguay, Chile and Argentina. (acn)
