50 radio and TV stations taken off Venezuela airwaves this year. AND COUNTING

On the night of August 25th, two well-known FM radio stations in Caracas left the airwaves by orders of CONATEL: Magica 99.1 FM and 92.9. Tu FM. Immediately, two new ones took their places, Radio Vinotinto FM and Corazón Llanero.

Under the official excuse that their broadcasting licenses were not “renewed”, they became part of the 50 radio and TV stations closed down this year, with 80% of all radio stations in Venezuela in legal limbo regarding licensing. It’s the latest signal of an escalation strategy (which reached the international front), at a time when a new piece of legislation could kill free speech for good.

read it and weep for the death of democracy

Diario La Nación will not circulate this Wednesday due to lack of paper

The newspaper La Nación Tachira state will not circulate this Wednesday, because the company was again without paper.

Authorities of the newspaper reported that the last paper coil was exhausted in the print of the September 5 edition and explained on its website that Corporación Alfredo Maneiro, in charge of the sale of the material, has not yet delivered the last order made by the business.

The Tachirense media said that the contribution of the paper has already been made by the corporation, so the material intended for production in September should be on the way to the Andean region.
