People sitting in running cars

In parking lots. I'm always surprised at how many I see as I walk back to my car. Usually they're sitting there on their phones (note: this sentence is why English is hard to learn). But back to my point: why don't they go in and wait in the lobby or go with whoever they're waiting for?

Those that already exist will be allowed to continue. But new franchise applications with the drive-thru service are being denied.

Now the elementary school near my house has about a half-mile-long line of moms in idling cars, every morning and every afternoon.

I walked to middle school, but rode a bus the rest of the time. "Car riders" were very rare back then.

7. Our elementary school doesn't provide bus service if you live less than 1.5 miles from the school.

Most parents dont have time or energy to walk their kid to school each day if it was more than a couple of blocks. Also most parents would not let their kid walk alone for obvious reasons. Seems the schools should provide busing for all kids if they want it.

Nobody does that around here. Thank goodness.

And I'd make my kids do the same if I had any.

So if there is already a bus provided for ages 5-7 why not lets the older kids ride it too if there is space?

In my day they didn't build schools on main roads. That way we could walk to school and be safe. There were no school buses. Almost everybody walked, except for teachers.

When it see things like that, it greatly diminishes my hope for humanity to survive.

8. Our hybrid has an electric air conditioner.

The air conditioner can run for quite a long time before the engine restarts to recharge the battery.

This was very handy during the covid crisis when waiting rooms were closed and we all had to wait outside for doctor and veterinarian appointments.
