Mississippi legislator fears for life after comments about gay marriage

Mississippi legislator fears for life after comments about gay marriage

Rep. Andy Gipson cited a Bible passage earlier this month to slam President Obama's endorsement of gay marriage, saying he believed that homosexuals shouldn't have the right to marry.

"The only opinion that counts is God's," he said, then quoted a Bible passage that he interprets to say that being gay is a sin.

He also quoted another passage:

“If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."

"Your recent posts on Facebook in opposition to Gay Marriage are derogatory, harmful, judgmental and outright threatening to the LGBT population,” the Change.org petition said. “Quoting scripture in the Bible that condones murdering homosexuals is a blatant act of harm and prejudice."

Gipson refused to backtrack, however, posting on Friday to his Facebook page that he "Will not apologize for the inspired truth of God's word.

Is it going to be open season on witches soon? The same manuscript Gipson quotes from also says "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live".

Hypocrite!! How can you hold up a 2000 year old text to justify an argument and at the same ignore other passages you don't happen to agree with? Mississippi needs a new representative - this clown needs a new job.

Doesn't he believe he will be going to a better place without any homosexuals?

My partner said "I'll bet he's had a big old juicy porkchop in the last couple of weeks. Probably had fried shrimp too. Guess we'll see him in Hell".

Cracked me up....
