Since the small town hotel I'm relegated to telly only has the lowest common denominator selections of cable channels, I must again catch up on the latest and greatest of gay entertainment via internet or DVD's.
BBC's "Vicious season 2" I received via Amazon yesterday and had to watch the whole thing last evening. Hilarious to rival first season, a bit of the sharp campy edge removed in favor of tender yet still rollicking moments. I only had one complaint. The end of the last episode. OMFG. Right after another half hour hold-my-guts in laugh fest, the parting shot ripped the heart right out of my chest, allowed a herd of buffalo to stampede all over it, stuff it back in and go through 8 kleenex to recover from that last 10 seconds.
How dare they leave us on that saturnine note. Yet there's a highly tempting series to force the so called "christian" right wing idiots to watch "Clockwork Orange" style. Only the blackest of hearts could emerge untouched.

(802 posts)My own parents both went to their graves hating my "gayness". So sort of doubly personal and somewhat odd reasons the last scene Stuart realized there was no calling "mother" just ripped me to shreds.
But, backing up to the first season, and I believe in one of the first episodes: "Your mother is always the first one to know when somebody dies, is she getting the news directly from Satan?" My ex would have said something very similar about mine.
Sad part he was right about that.
