What's for Dinner, Tues., May 11, 2021

Posting early due to working late.

I have a sheet pan covered with chicken sausages, some of which are wrapped in bacon. There are pancetta bits sprinkled around, as well as garlic cloves. Lots of red and gold peppers. Basil I will sprinkle on before serving.

I have red pepper wraps and romescue sauce with which to serve this dish.

Will put this in the oven when I get home after teaching the kiddies how to apply compost, plant beans, cut an eye out of a potato, and build a trellis.

3. soup & sandwiches

Make a large pot of 15-bean soup today. There's a lot of ham in it and I added a little bit of orzo. We'll have some of that w/ some grilled cheese and tomato sandwiches.

Dessert: we'll finish up the cake or have some ice cream... or both.

2. You've got a lovely day planned!!

Today is my husband's 60th birthday. His menu request is grilled rib eye steaks with a dollop of crab and Bernaise on top. Roasted asparagus and baked potato. I'm going to oil and salt the russets before baking them on indirect heat on the pellet grill so that they get a little bit of smoke on them. Pecan pie for dessert. The pie is carried over from my son's 16th birthday which fell on Mother's Day.

4. Day late post

Last night, we had barbecued pork ribs. The Landlady(!) made a spectacular dry rub for the ribs. We also grilled corn on the cob and some scallions. We also had a delicious Cole slaw from the deli at our local supermarket.

I love grilling!
