Chef salad: I used two types of lettuce, arugula and romaine. Chopped cucumber, radish, red onion, and celery from my garden.
I did something interesting with the carrots: I sliced them on the mandoline and then sprinkled a good supply of chopped dill over them. Then added to the salad. It seemed to distribute the flavor better.
I put sliced ham, provolone, and Genoa salami on it, then homemade Thousand Island dressing and Chinese noodles for crunch.
Dessert: cold decaf and chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches.

(42,679 posts)1/4 chicken breast, carrots, cabbage, zucchini. I forgot onions and garlic so it didn't have much flavor. But it was nutritious and low calorie.

(38,458 posts)and it seems to be an epidemic of cheeseburgers.
I made Dad a cheeseburger. He had some homemade coleslaw and some corn on the cob with it.
Yesterday, Al asked me to take out some burgers for tonight's dinner. We're also having the homemade coleslaw.
When I told my sister in Maine (who calls my dad every evening) that he had a cheeseburger for dinner, she said she was having one too.
There's leftover birthday cake for dessert.

(5,580 posts)A Creole recipe. Dirty rice with ground pork but not much
. Coleslaw I made with a big turnip, carrot and a smidge of cabbage finely shredded. Also a green onion thrown in.
My man really loved the turnip slaw.
