Related: About this forumHow do you juice your citrus?
Juicing two lemons for tonight's chicken shawarma (the NYT oven-roasted version) with my arthritic hands got me wondering what you guys like to use to juice lemons, oranges and limes. I use a small glass reamer most of the time because it's easy to clean. But do you think the kind on the end of a handle that you dig around in the fruit, or the ones that you put a halved fruit in and squeeze are easier? What's your favorite method?

(43,049 posts)not being funny-- I rarely use enough juice to risk having the fruit rot or dry out.
Now, if I feel like having fresh juice, or feel the need to shave a rind, and have a fresh fruit handy, I'll usually use one of those squeezy things to avoid the mess and cleanup. On the rare occasions I have to juice a bunch of them, I'll use the big reamer that sits on a jar.
I used to have an electric reamer/juicer, but gave it a way when it got in the way.

(2,300 posts)The Fresh Force Citrus Juicer, made by Chef'n. Rachel Maddow has it and uses it in her "Cocktail Moment" segments. It's great! You do need to press firmly, though.

(1,451 posts)From our experience, Pampered Chef makes the best one. It's the kind you put half the fruit in and squeeze. A little pricey but it's fairly easy on our old hands and extracts the juice really well!
