TJ is rattling pots and pans as I read your post, so I asked "what are you cooking?".

I'm off kitchen duty this evening.

but my husband has been enjoying cooking when we do Blue Apron so maybe he'll take over completely until Fall. Sounds like a good plan to me.

Speaking of heat in the kitchen, I lived for a few years in an old farm house that had two kitchen stoves. The oldest part of the house was a log cabin built well before the civil war. A wood burning stove was on the back porch for summer use and an electric stove had replaced the wood burner in the inside kitchen. This was their way of beating the heat.

At my present abode the central air conditioning makes the kitchen bearable in the summer.

haven't decided how I'm doing the kale but will probably saute with shallots and add to the farro with some seasonings.

for a bowl of pozole and maybe a couple of tacos de lengua.

Just not inspired to cook today after doing house chores and laundry. Ugh.

a vegetarian meatloaf kinda deal - I believe it's an old Seventh Day Adventist recipe. I think it's acceptable, son did not care for the nuttiness of it (meaning pecans, not the idea of it!). Mashed potatoes and peas to go with.

I had just wanted to try it. I don't feel I can eat a lot of red meat. I try to limit it to one dinner per week. Husband and son complain about having chicken, fish, and vegetarian meals so often.
