United Shades of America

I am so grateful to W. Kamau Bell for doing this series, but is anyone else hyperventilating, having a panic attack, and developing a migraine just watching it?

It's funny, but it's so very not funny. I'm seriously getting physically ill and don't think I can keep watching it.

I know people like this exist, but watching them so raw is another thing altogether.

I just started watching the series. It was an episode about the South and the KKK.

Watching the next one about San Quentin, which I find also interesting but less traumatic, at least so far.

I grew up not only in deep East Texas, but within the Texas prison system (as the child of an employee).

I don't have the panic features when I watch as you described, but was crying pretty much nonstop watching the prison episode last week.

Excellent show.
