I'm picking the Patriots to upset. I think the Pats' experience will prove enough to overcome the Chiefs, who could struggle as the pressure mounts in the playoffs.

It's the other game that troubles me. I favor the Saints but only by a field goal. By picking them to win, but not to cover, leaves me a small margin for predicting victory. But there you have it, I'll stick with New Orleans by 3.

I'm not clear on the terminology, but as I mentioned above, I think New Orleans only prevails by a field goal or less.

And he's only in his first year, for all practical purposes. I think he started once last year.

Plus, Arrowhead Stadium.

He's set a whole lot of records from game one. Now he's one of only three QB to have thrown 50 touchdown passes in one season. And one of only seven who've had more than 5,000 passing yards in one season. And considering he only started once last year, his rookie season, these are truly incredible stats.

Patriots - Rams rematch would make a great bookend to Brady's career, though. Mahomes' day will come, but not yet.
