Related: About this forumKestrel and Kestrel Baby
Several years ago my daughter and I did some volunteer work at a wild bird rescue. We worked in "orphan care" so didn't really have much to do with the raptors. But one day somebody brought this baby kestrel up to the incoming window so of course we took a couple of quick pics of my daughter holding it before giving it to the people in the building who rehabbed the raptors and other large or more rare birds that came in. We also got to release several kestrel pairs right from my backyard. Whenever I see a kestrel now I always wonder if it's related to some that we released.

amazing how big his feet are!
I took a sparrow hawk to a bird rehab place - I found it doing snow angels on the ground (in actual snow in downtown Austin Texas) - they said he had a concussion (possibly from bashing into a building) and he was good to go after a few days.
