Birders
Related: About this forumFlock after flock of robins, cedar wax wings, and grackles are arriving
at the birdbaths this morning. As they squabble, splash and sun themselves, I wonder if some of them are fleeing the war in Ukraine. I envy the bird's ability to live happily in the present moment, even if they did have to encounter the human self-bombardment. They have no worry about the future nor regret the past. As usual, I'm finding all the bird activity calming and entertaining. Birdwatching is much preferable to the blather box today.

(2,823 posts)I want to be informed of the news in the world but I have to limit the amount of bad news I ingest daily or I become burnt out and depressed. After sending what I can to help Ukraine, I take lots of breaks in the day to find the things that make me grateful.
