on top of utility poles and dive into the Kootenai River for a trout lunch. Amazing birds.

They also build nests on top of utility poles here (southern MD,) on old trees like this one, and on top of boat houses.

Is this the female or male? I'm still concerned about the one leg from yesterday.
This one looks like the female but I'm unsure because if she has eggs she should
be sitting on them.

Not sure who/which this is, maybe another. and don't know about the one-legged one; will return later, to check.
