(25,586 posts)That isn't exactly Bernie's wheelhouse.
Doesn't matter -- its's going to be as even a delegate split as you've ever seen.

(1,054 posts)I didn't think there would be any good news tonight.

(42,383 posts)It's basically a tie in terms of delegates and would be whether Bernie held onto his slim lead or Clinton ekes out a victory.
Unfortunately, as a Bernie supporter (but one not prone to fantasy-land views of the primaries), a wash on delegates is a win for the candidate with the lead in delegates -- one less state where Bernie can make up the difference.

(12,685 posts)For such a wealthy nation, you would think we would have developed almost an iron clad system by now. But then again, I don't think that is the objective.
All of STL County in. Gives Hillary 1433 statewide lead with a little Jackson left #MOPrimary

(28,303 posts)I guess he should have perhaps delayed or picked a different time but still . . . It was wrong of the networks not to show it. I was waiting for his speech too. Not to gloat but because I LIKE listening to what he has to say, because I LIKE him.

(1,054 posts)After tonight he expects to start making up the delegate counts.
While she won, she also preformed far worse than expected.
It's being looked at as a positive for the Bernie campaign - out of the woods of the red states and states that were strong Hillary now.
Your first statement is true. The second and third are completely false.
so this night could get worse.
time for bed.

(1,054 posts)the pro Hillary states. She preformed far worse than expected and her campaign will notice just like Bernies did.
That means she is not a shoe in at all. I believe I saw something that said when it's over she'll be up 288 delgates on him total and he will now start collecting delegates.

(1,054 posts)I think her supporters are celebrating and she's very worried now. She's out of states that were expected to go to her. From here the fight begins. I read that she lost a lot of ground and Bernie gained it tonight. So as he goes though this race, his base is growing and her's is shrinking. It is by far not over yet.

(1,054 posts)Both campaigns are following the analysis closely. It's part of *political science*
I've been getting the news letters and hearing the forecasts for a few months. This was expected.
And the election is playing out not as expected because Bernie didn't expect to pick up so many supporters at this point and Hillary didn't expect to lose so many. Her base is slowly dwindling. Many of these elections tonight were too close and they weren't supposed to be close at all.
Godhumor
(6,437 posts)If was an extremely good night for Hillary by every possible metric.
Zira
(1,054 posts)It was not supposed to be this close in most of those states. I saw most of them were supposed to be Hillary at 10% or higher over Bernie.
I doubt she will be able to sleep tonight. The writing is getting very clear on the wall.
These are just little battles in a war that is constantly getting polled and forecasted across the board.
Celebrate tonight.

(24,544 posts)those were all "close?" And the ones that were close were ones she wasn't supposed to win at all. And you calling those "close?"
Yeah. Okay. Right.

(10,499 posts)with more pledged delegates or more popular votes than her.
Right now she has a bigger PD lead than Obama ever had over her in 2008.
I think she can expect to do well in Arizona, New York, Pennsylvania and Maryland. Those states are coming up in March and April. Arizona is in one week on March 22.
I keep hearing that Latinos are moving towards Sanders, but I haven't actually seen it happen.
Clinton also won most of the states towards the end of the 2008 race, but by then it was too late.

(1,054 posts)"Though Hillary Clinton swept Super Tuesday II, Bernie Sanders virtually tied her in both Illinois and Missouri, salvaging delegates in every state: 64 in Illinois, 60 in Florida, 38 in Ohio, 35 in Missouri and 26 in North Carolina. In total, Sanders will finish Super Tuesday II with over 250 pledged delegates. The Senator is down, but neither morally nor mathematically out.
"
StevieM
(10,499 posts)And I would say the same exact thing if Hillary was trailing Bernie.
Imagine how furious the Hillary-haters would have been in 2008 if she had stayed in until the Convention.

(1,054 posts)Everyone else should understand if she wins the primaries she will be needed.

(10,499 posts)But there is a lot of vitriol being spewed in Hillary's direction.
Still, you are right. The Republicans are the haters. We're the good guys, whether we support Clinton or Sanders.
