http://www.politico.com/story/2016/03/bernie-sanders-longshot-victory-superdelegates-220847Bernie Sanders is falling further and further behind in pledged delegates but even after Hillary Clintons Tuesday romp, his campaign says theres a longshot strategy that lets him regain momentum and win the Democratic nomination by relying on superdelegates even if he comes into the Philadelphia convention still trailing Clinton.

(11,619 posts)I think it will work like it did in 2008. Superdelegates will go with whoever gets the most votes, no matter who they sided with during the primary.

(11,619 posts)Now that Sanders is pivoting to chase Superdelegates, will people stay true to their argument or suffer whiplash from the change in direction.

(55,894 posts)I would far, far prefer him to be the guy who keeps rallying younger voters and get them to the polls for Democrats not just in November, but for midterms and to start RUNNING FOR LOCAL OFFICES.
It's a shame he decides to stay an Independent.
Why not become a Democrat and start organizing young, left-leaning young adults into the Democratic party?
Why not start getting them to run for local offices?
That's really how you implement changes.

(32,324 posts)Give up on progressive values and support endless wars, corruption of the rule of law, Big Banking, Big Pharma, Big Prison, endless wars, Monsanto's fusarium-contaminated grains and crops, and all the rest of it?
I mean, Americans do not really need or want to be safe in their homes or on the streets.
We Americans really could care less if six year old kids are being shackled and sent off to juvenile halls, for infractions that would have only gotten them a trip to the principals a generation ago. Nor do we mind having to ingest pharmaceutical products simply to allow our bodies to digest the Monsanto and other big Ag firms destruction of our food corps for their bottom line.

(32,324 posts)There is more to this particular race between her and Sanders than superdelegates.
What happened to the Saudi-connection emails on her and her buddy's server? Why was it necessary to hide those emails?

(10,559 posts)Their votes aren't counted until the convention, and traditionally they vote with either the majority or the way their state does.
They have NEVER been "committed" to a candidate publicly months in advance of a convention to make that candidate a guaranteed winner, especially if that candidate is under criminal investigation by the FBI (who aren't being run by the Republicans).
Committed super delegates as early as they were was pretty obviously "payment for services rendered" as opposed to "what is actually best for the country".
