So the Hillary group smears combat veteran Tulsi Gabbard?This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by mcar (a host of the 2016 Postmortem forum). You do not serve Hillary in any way, with bullshit like this. http://www.democraticunderground.com/110781855 You see, maybe Tulsi is trying to explain the difference in the culture of media and what is happening on the ground, and to our service members? This is horrible, and it's strange what Hillary attracts. And as cowards do, they post the most offensive stuff, behind the protective wall of the "Hillary group". So, I'll just make a post all in itself, to apologize to every veteran that is smeared, when you smear a veteran in this way. Vets are not to be used as a political football EVER. This must be said to every veteran, thank you for serving.

I am also put off to some degree by Gabbard's rhetoric.

The statements in that article, whether or not you agree with the author's opinion are valid criticism.
This is in no way a smear. I commend Ms. Gabbard's service. I find some of her views troubling. |

3. She's an evil Bernie supporter, she's no Democrat
What Democrat would support ANY healthcare system like Bernie's that completely writes out the most important aspect of medical care>>>PROFIT!!!
What Democrat would FORCE ME TO PAY for Donald Trumps kids to go to College just so that all of America's youth have the same opportunity? Ludicrous. Well, that's what I would say if I were a Hillary supporter anyway...but I'm not. |

5. She's a politician. Fair game for commentary, veteran or
not. Being a vet does not exempt her from the same scrutiny any politician should expect to receive, especially one who has such curious ties with a radically anti-muslim group.

Some Hillary campaigners on the internet will viciously attack and destroy in a very personal way anyone who doesn't fall in line behind their imperialist agenda.

17. Being a veteran is honorable, but it isn't a free pass for expressing extremist views
Gabbard is too closely tied to India's far-right BJP, and even voted against a House resolution because the language included;
Calls for religious freedom and related human rights to be included in the United States-India Strategic Dialogue and for such issues to be raised directly with federal and state Indian government officials.
because the BJP is very much opposed to Muslims. Why on earth Sanders would want such a person in his camp is baffling. |

I don't see it as a smear on Tulsi Gabbard. It is an opinion piece by somebody that clearly disagrees with her views. Being a veteran doesn't mean Gabbard's views are off limits for discussion. Gabbard decided to become a politician and she is not shy about stating her views, so how is she being used as a "political football"?

the question of Palestine. That would clear up a lot. If she's with Bernie on the issue, it makes her better than a lot of the Democratic party.
