As Sanders Surges, Cable News Runs Prison Reality Show, Jesus Documentary

http://fair.org/home/as-sanders-surges-cable-news-runs-prison-reality-show-jesus-documentary/

Over the past week, Bernie Sanders racked up six wins out of seven primary contests, winning 92 delegates more than his rival Hillary Clinton to chip into her pledged delegate lead. While not an existential shift in the race, the momentum has changed in Sanders’ favor, especially since he won the last three primaries—Hawaii, Washington state and Alaska—with between 70 and 82 percent of the vote.

You, however, would hardly have noticed had you been watching cable news the night of the Saturday primaries. Both MSNBC and CNN forwent live election coverage on arguably Sanders’ biggest night of the year, instead deciding to air a normally scheduled prison reality show and a “documentary” on Jesus.

The race is far from over, yet most of the major cable networks have all but moved on. Clinton’s lead, while considerable, is far from insurmountable. Indeed, the netting of 66 delegates Saturday night pulls Sanders to within 268 pledged delegates of the former secretary of State—with 2,073 delegates yet to be awarded.

1. Are they supposed to cancel all of their previously scheduled programming ?

I think this thread should be in the running for the most petty and hysterical thread of 2016. LOL

2. Before venting your outrage...

...both MSNBC and CNN spent the better part of the afternoon with Caucus coverage WHEN THE WASHINGTON AND ALASKA CAUCUSES WERE HAPPENING. They had correspondents on site at Caucuses, talked to voters, discussed Sanders' prospects and reporting the tallies as they came in. This whining appears to be because they didn't continue this coverage late into the evening with Hawaii, which reported very late at night.

5. Okay then - I'm an opportunistic, "status quo" politician...

You tell me to support Sanders' agenda or you'll vote me out of office. I say: show me where you've had any political clout in a Democratic Primary. Who'd you get nominated in 2016 besides Bernie?

(back to me now)...I'm financially supporting 19 House and Senate candidates, and well as DCCC, DSCC, DGA and DLCC. I think they're all competitive mainstream Democrats. You may disagree with my choices, but I'm not seeing The Revolution (tm) step up to the plate with alternatives. As an example, Zephyr Teachout has a three-way Primary for the NY-19 nomination in June. I'll support whichever one wins, as this is a strong pickup. But what are you doing to throw the nomination her way?

4. Breaking Nees

CNN and MSNBC have been running these shows for years before Bernie announced. And those caucuses were being held over Easter weekend. Sorry, but a lot more people find Jesus more interesting than Bernie.
