Throwing dollar bills at a woman...just when you think BernieBros couldn't get anymore crass!

My blood is boiling. Could the political discourse get any lower?

Are we seriously still pretending that "BernieBros" was something conjured up by the Clinton campaign?

Here, it is clear that they were throwing money to make a statement about corruption, and women were involved in this action. You all think people are stupid as humans can be to think that people can't see this for the clumsy propaganda it is. It wasn't sexist, it was an action against her corruption.

A Pentagon document, linked to by Lee Fang of The Intercept shows that "Clinton approved a sale of over 4 million dollars ($4,195,110.40 by my count) by the Remington Arms Company of New York in 2012. This is particularly notable because Remington is the same gun maker that made the AR-15-type semiautomatic rifle (a Bushmaster XM15-E2S) used by Adam Lanza in the Sandy Hook massacre in December of 2012. Remington Arms is now the subject of the families’ lawsuit.

Furthermore;

The Pentagon document also shows Clinton that year approved over $100 million dollars ($116,160,367.19 by my count) in ammunition sales by Alliant Techsystems, the parent company of Savage Arms, which makes the MK II-F bolt action rifle Lanza used to kill his mother.

...

This revenue for gun and ammunition makers helped the NRA in its political efforts. In 2014, Bill Clinton campaigned for Senator Mark Pryor of Arkansas. Pryor’s opponent Tom Cotton was supported by NRA money contributing to Pryor’s defeat. Clinton thus approved gun sale revenue that would have flowed through Remington, Colt and others to the NRA onwards to the Clintons’ declared political opponents. NRA spending on lobbying and elections outpaced such spending by the Brady Campaign Against Gun Violence by 73 to 1 in 2012.

Many of the Clinton-approved sales were to client nations who receive military aid from the U.S. (Afghanistan, Egypt, Israel) and thus from taxpayers. So the NRA is funded by your taxes this way:

you ? federal government ? client nation ? gunmaker ? NRA

That would be funny, if it weren't so frightfully ignorant.

My dear, the word "whore" as a slur applied to women who had sex with men for money, is EXTREMELY

old. It vastly predates the very EXISTENCE of corporations, let alone the term "corporate whore".

Sorry, that's all the remedial education I have time for today.

MrWendell is a Hillary supporter. So "she's supposed to be a whore" should be expanded to:

According to Bernie supporter's she is supposed to be a whore. So that is why they think it is funny to throw money at her to call her a whore. Because Bernie supporters are misogynist assholes.

Of course, you started playing the "they're calling her a whore" routine in response to posts earlier than MrWendell which gives the lie to your entire pretense of using MrWendell's post to justify your routine.

You may need to take a good look in the mirror. What normal people saw was a political statement about corruption to do with the fund raiser. They were showering the new emperor in money so they could also have access to lobby her.

What is sounds like you saw was a bunch of guys tossing money at poor lady treating her like a woman of the night. That is called projection at best. It is not a healthy attitude from a group that wants to unite us. And make no mistake Trump will own people that make arguments like you as if you were nothing at all. You think these things mean something when you spout them, but you are taking power away from real victims, you are using them as if you were the people doing these things you envision in your head. I am not sure if you are just a fake bot trying to stir things up, but there was someone just like you in our cause, so they do exist.

Bernie supporters didn't go to for the sexist interpretation, they went after the complete lack of self-awareness of the Hillary camp.

So when Bernie supporters further ridicule the this lack of awareness by doing exactly what Hillary asks people to do, throw $1 bills at her, what do the Hillary supporters go to? Fucking sexism!!

Here's what I see, someone says corporate whore you guys automatically decide it's Hillary who is the corporate whore. Protesters throw dollar bills at a line of SUV's and you guys automatically put Hillary on a stripper pole. You are either deliberately trying to smear people as sexist or you guys really have a low opinion of your candidate. I have a low opinion of her but when I hear the word whore my mind doesn't automatically tie Hillary and the word whore together. When I see protesters throwing dollar bills at SUV's, plural, and you have no way of knowing what vehicle she was in, on their way into a high dollar fundraiser I see a statement being made about money in politics.

Realize that you can't substantiate your silly propaganda. Doesn't help your candidate and it certainly doesn't help fighting against actual sexism.

your stupid propaganda of pretending this was a mistake and was sexist. I don't know who you think you are fooling. The people involved in this demonstration, which included women (that clearly hate other women I guess), did what they did to protest corruption. Pretending, which is all it is, that this is sexist is absurd. It's called deflection, because you can't and won't deal with her decades long corruption.

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

Personal attack. Personal insult. Saying things like "You have the mind of a child" and "you look like a fool" are personal attacks and not permitted by DU rules.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Mon Apr 18, 2016, 06:57 PM, and the Jury voted 2-5 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #2 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Personal attack.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Because the rest of this sub-thread is SO respectful... *eye roll*
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: It's not a civil discussion from either member. I'd vote hide the thread.
And NurseJackie could lose her little condescending "note to juries"; I consider that a far more hideable "offense" than the post we're voting on.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: This whole thread is a steaming pile. I'm not going to vote to hide one post.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Meh, nothing here of interest.

Hillary wouldn't stoop to pick up ones; those are for the peasants. But were you outraged when corruption protestors showered a FIFA boss with money, or when Monsanto protestors threw dollar bills on the Senate building floor, or when Abbie Hoffman threw money onto the floor of the New York Stock Exchange? The protest was against the corruption of big money in politics, and Hillary's minions are not helping her by whining that every criticism is sexist. I will not use the term "whore," although - as I'm sure you know - it does not refer only to sex workers, but also to people and institutions who will compromise their ethics in exchange for money. It would appear, however, that when a woman compromises her political ethics for money we must dance very, very lightly - in fact, we may not mention that issue at all, lest we be called sexist.

I could see your point. That display was not about anyone equating her with a sex worker, it's about the big money. They would have done it to a man running if he was owned by the banks and big corporations.
