2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThe Bernie or Bust movement had its first meeting to start a third party last week. Details below.
In a smoke filled Elks Lodge in Utah 356 members of the Bernie or Bust movement met behind closed doors to start a new third party last week.
First order of business was to come up with a name. Out of the 356 members they came up with 355 different names. HA Goodman was so hung over from a long night of posting on DU that he couldn't come up with anything other than the Fuck Progressives and Clinton Party. They decided not to use it for a valid entry. One name won on the first vote. All people voted for their own so the tally was one individual vote for every single suggestion except one, where HA Goodman put it over the top with two votes.
The one that got two votes: The Coalition Opposition Party
Second order of business was to determine where they were first going to get support. They decided to go after the base of the Democratic Party and Clintons greatest support. POC.
On Monday 355 of the 356 member found themselves in a neighborhood that had a predominately minority population. HA Goodman was absent as he had long Sunday night on DU drinking and posting again.
They started knocking on doors and yelling "we are The COP's!!!! We are The COP's!!!"
Much to their chagrin, no doors were opened and no literature was passed out. They just couldn't figure out why. They went back to meet with HA Goodman for what was suppose to be a great write up on their new movement. They reported that no one wanted to talk to them.
Goodmans Wednesday morning article will be titled: Nothing But Ostrich's, They Have No Clue What's Good For Them
It was a rocky start to the movement but out of the 356 members a total of 3 signed up to meet again next week. The remaining 353 decided they needed to start their own party. They consider that to be a huge success and a clear sign of victory on the horizon.
