Oh the hyperbole coming from the Hillary folks this morning!

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by LostOne4Ever (a host of the 2016 Postmortem forum).

Here's one of the best:

What will it take for Bernie to reign the Death Threats in? Does someone have to Die????
…the horrific, ugly and sexist acts of terrorism against Democratic women.
He has not even contacted Roberta Lange … to see if she, her family and her five year old grandchild are alright and try to help stop the minute by minute harassment they are suffering in his name.
… After watching children being terrified at Hillary rallies by Sanders supporters and now this 5 year old child, I can't imagine what kind of miserable human being he must be

People get angry at a transparently rigged convention and the Hillary side then blows it up into (I've even seen it called a "riot" and now) a reign of death threats here this morning.

Jam a stick into someone's eye and then call them -- blame them for being -- "violent" barbarians for pushing you back. It's almost Machiavellian in its spin!

1. Hyperbole

People who have to rely on this type of cynical hyperbole should just be laughed at or ignored. They have nothing worthwhile to offer to anyone and do nothing but damage their own candidate. If you have to resort to this type of lazy tactic it tells the world that your candidate must be so weak that you have to exaggerate to support them.

3. Good point. They say they have the nomination in the bag. If they really thought so,

they'd simply lay back and watch. But they continue to ramp up the hyperbole so obviously they are starting to panic. And I am not surprised, we are exposing the fallacies of our democracy, our election system and sadly the Democratic Party that used to be for the people. The Democratic Leadership has been bought and paid for by the Corporate/Oligarchy. The longer this goes the more exposure of their culture of corruption.

Vote for democracy, for freedom, for liberty, vote for Sanders.

2. 'transparently rigged convention?'

...talk about hyperbole! Sanders LOST the Feb. caucus. Get a grip on that

Trying to overturn the will of the people by bullying and intimidation at the convention and afterward didn't do a thing to change that. The process held firm, and the results of the convention matched the results of the caucus.

That's not 'rigging an election,' it's upholding one.

Btw, the credentials committee was comprised of 5 Sanders reps and 5 Clinton reps. it couldn't have been fairer and you're actually disparaging people from your own campaign.

but only by loyalty to the personality figure. Anyone who presents themselves as a threat to the ascendance of the personality is attacked, simply for not being part of the right tribe. The more vicious the attack, the more credibility, adoration, and validation the attacker receives from the rest of the personality cult.

It's pretty much middle-school playground politics at this point.

think, but I think it's more than that. We've raise a generation or two of authoritarians. We got away from the liberal teachings of skepticism and open-mindedness in favor of authoritarianism. I call it Bullyism. The little bullies follow the bigger bullies. And you can readily see the mob mentality when they get together to gang up on a perceived enemy.

It's harder as a parent, a teacher, a scout leader, a coach, a religious leader to deal with open-mindedness. It's much easier to teach blind obedience and blindly following, authoritarianism.

17. You can't be saying that convention officials were physically aggressive

with the Sanders delegation? There is no excuse to justify the violent mob scene that brought in the police to restore order.

Sanders delegates lost control, they didn't just get angry, they went on the attack. And no matter how you try to spin it or paint it as something inconsequential or blame someone else, Sanders owns the problem now. Look at today's blowback in the media where Sanders lack of leadership is being criticizing, and he isn't getting a free pass for not making a more decisive repudiation of his aggressive followers. And now there's a growing chorus of bloggers who were once avid Bernie fans with huge numbers of followers who are defecting and writing about their disappointment in Sanders integrity.

This isn't going away. The exodus will go on while you're still stuck pointing blame on everyone else except the bitter little man behind the curtain.

Threads complaining about Democratic Underground or its members; threads complaining about jury decisions, locked threads, suspensions, bannings, or the like; and threads intended to disrupt or negatively influence the normal workings of Democratic Underground and its community moderating system are not permitted.

PLEASE note that this is a late night hosting decision. As such, few hosts have weighed in, and it is possible that later more could log in and this decision could be reversed.

If that happens, I will unlock this thread. If not, it shall remain locked.

Thank you.
