NO ONE is in a greater state of denial than the Democratic Party

Last edited Sat May 21, 2016, 04:48 PM - Edit history (7)

a state of denial that has reached the level of absurdity.

A state of denial so devoid of reality that I find myself wondering - have we entered the Twilight Zone?

You can deny all you want, but this year by your OWN ACTIONS, not the actions of a decent man like Bernie, but by YOUR OWN ACTIONS in embracing a corrupt system, you have damaged the Democratic Party and this country to an extent that I am not sure it can ever recover. And your corporatist buddies on the right side of the aisle have been right there with you.

No country needed to fund a military to destroy America. We are imploding from within.

The one shot this country had (and it was a long shot at best) was to put someone in at the top who through his decency and goodness and love of country and all people, would have attracted smart like minded individuals to public service. A man who believes fervently in all the democratic principles this country was founded upon. Someone unafraid to use the bully pulpit in an unprecedented way to make the bold changes this country so desperately needs. Instead, we are faced with the usual cast of corrupt, incompetent, self-serving individuals who care not about serving this country or its people, and who do not even care about the destruction that they will leave in their wake, but what riches and power they will gain.

Bernie and his supporters refuse to give up the fight because they realize what is at stake and what they are fighting for (and it isn't just to gain some items on a party platform). It is for the future of this country and its people.

Some of the Democrats in Congress toss around the words - we need to save our country - but what they fail to realize is that by winning with a candidate that embraces our current system, we will have lost. Not that it will matter, because I do not see the Democratic Party winning in November.

And when I hear you speak the words - we need to save our country - what I hear you say is we need to save our current system of government because it's working out quite well for me and mine. So please shut up and don't rock the boat because you're scaring me. I have come to understand what it is you really fear.

The problem arises when you start believing that your "different drum" is somehow drowning out the drum that everyone else is marching to.

her right hand guy, David Brock, who was someone who made up atrocious lies about Anita Hill.

And yet, having absolutely no conscience, Brock now makes up stories about how Bernie is
racist! He then uses PAC money to offer up salaries to people to install child porn on Bernie Supporters' internet blogs and FB sites. (That installation, is BTW a felony.)

They don't see the need for jobs that pay well, as they apparently have a niche inside the Corporate World. (Every one I know personally who supports HRC has a corporate job.)

They have no concept of what it means that we have this horrid debt to China, due to not having a strong manufacturing base here.

They're unaware of how it must be stopped - the taking from Main Street to the Big Financial Players.

But those who are in the 42% of all registered voters who are absolutely sick of the Two Parties giving away the working person's future to Big Business - those people are aware that the various Obama set ups offered up $ 222,000 per man woman and child, while Wall Street execs got bonus monies after destroying the economy. HRC promises more of the same.

And I won't even begin to get into all the "Funny Business" history that HRC possesses.

so yes, it is primary season it came out.

These are organized labor, working class and lower class folks. They are with me, (and you I suspect) in seeing such a rotten system that the only reason we still bother to "vote," is to overcome the chicanery of the system and from time to time get something done, a bone if you will, for the working people.

Bernie did come out because we have two rallies this weekend, and we are at least covering one... tomorrow at National City.

But the overall opinion was that the system is so rotten it needs a-fixing. Mind you, those are the folks that usually do not get heard in DC, though they do get heard at City Hall. And yes, there is an amount of tone deafness here that is astounding. People are angry. and this will lead to change sooner or later. The question will be though the ballot or by other means.

Myself I will pretend to vote, but the ballot is not where change happens. This is why many here (and they used not to) sneer at protesters for example. And you are getting sneered at by people who are comfortable, one of them does not even live in the country and has what the rest need. That I find hilarious as can be.

The naive optimism that this unelectable socialist could actually stand a chance in a general election combined with this weirdly cynical idea that this is our only shot. Our one last chance to get a progressive in the White House! It's such nonsense. Sanders is clearly an indicator of a rising populist progressive movement, but also SO clearly not the one to bring it to the national stage. It will happen in time, but this is not the time.

win.

Bernie is a Democratic Socialist, the generic term socialist was polled with no person identified,
and he would be the President with a Congress full of Democrats and Republicans.

I am sure the American People will just be running to the polls to elect the ultimate corporatist who has joined the ranks of the 1% by doing the bidding of that 1%. What a state of denial...

Sure that no other Bernie Sanders like character will ever scare the hell out of the establishment again.

There will be massive efforts to get or manufacture dirt on anyone who might so much as think about going left populist.

He who challenges the King (or Queen) had best strike sure, they don't get two chances.

Keep the faith. This is an epic shift happening. If the dark forces capture this battle, it will likely be their last.

Nobody, no oily greedy group of powerhungry warmongers & all their Friends & Relations, has more power than the human heart when it joins an idea whose time has come.

There will be just desserts for all in due time. The meek might even inherit the earth after all. We must not use our imaginations poorly -- because the beautiful Hope -- that muse of all things good & possible -- is inside you and me. I hang on tight. It makes EVERYTHING look so much better.

The cause is important enough and the Democratic Party has not had a fair election process. The Democratic Party is not going to be reformed from within. It is serving the financial interests of the Democratic politicians, officials and staffers too well. A decade in politics sets you up for life afterwards as a lobbyist or on Wall Street.

I stopped my regular financial contributions to Bernie after the New York primary. I am not going to keep sending him money so he can lose the Democratic Party nomination by a narrower margin and maybe get a couple of meaningless planks in the party platform which will be promptly disregarded by Hillary Clinton. I'm waiting to see what Bernie does next. If he runs third party, or starts to form a third party after the November election, I will start kicking in financial support again. Otherwise, I am not throwing money into a hopeless battle against this corrupt institution called the Democratic Party. It is an exercise in futility.

overnight into 1940's america would have been bitterly disappointed by reality anyway.

Burnie waaay over promised, so much so it seemed like a con to lots of democrats.

We will see in the next mid term elections if Sanders movement is real or an illusion.

Most of Obama's huge crowds of young voters, much more than Bernie's BTW, deserted him two years in so the rethuglicans could stop just about everything he wanted to do.

If you all are serious the off year election better be flooded with Bern voters.
