(10,472 posts)It's easy to say "fix this". It's hard to say "here's what I'll actually do to fix it".
This is why I have never even entertained the thought of supporting sanders this year; his ideas lack substance and plans to carry them out, while Hillary offers the pragmatic and detailed paths forward.

(36,186 posts)platform is vile. Trying to make people out to be their enemy when in fact we have just as progressive and a real path forward.
But soundbites are good for the uninformed masses.
Just look at the Dump. He's got complaints, but he aint got no realistic solutions. Same for sanders.

(47,803 posts)Can be socially liberal maybe, but can't address the real issues of Wealth and Power when beholden to -- and allied with -- the elites who screw everything up for the majority of the population.

(3,014 posts)Hillary is against any type of single payer/UHC...free public education....trade agreements that don't screw the American worker...
Really...that ain't no progressive. You can call yourself a democrat. Just don't say you're a progressive if you're supporting a candidate that is against the policies that make someone a progressive.
Just because you stuck a feather up your butt doesn't make you a chicken.

He isn't.
So who do The Owners (who are also part of the problem) choose for the precariate? HILLARY of course. One of their own.
After all, we can't have too much Democracy here. That would be disasterous for The Owners and their political puppets.

(21,046 posts)I am in a crummy rural HMO and pay $600 a month. My tax burden is horrible and they go by your gross income, not net. On paper I look middle class. After taxes, I am not.

(53,475 posts)... speaks of "universal health care."
There's a huge chasm between the two phrases.

So, you are her best-case scenario.

(21,046 posts)Yuck. That's $600 a month. There goes any disposable income I had, going to an evil insurance company. Great. (((SARCASM)))

(15,997 posts)Single payer would be the way to go, better for everyone involved (well, except the insurance companies), but I hear that's never going to happen.
Too much money to be made from the current system.

(14,449 posts)The VA has a million patients and has failed. How on earth will 325 million fair? That is scary. We need to ensure that the VA situation doesn't happen with universal health care. That part is mandatory.
