2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumCongratulations to Secretary Clinton.
For me, California seals the deal. I understand if Bernie Sanders wants to let the final primaries take place so everyone can vote, but after that I do believe he should concede and endorse.
That's my take, as a Sanders supporter. Don't really want to argue about it, I salute the man for running a campaign that exceeded all expectations, I think the behavior of people who tried to smear his supporters for months on end- as a cheap distraction from talking about actual issues- speaks for itself, and I abso-fucking-lutely think there are real issues which the Democratic Party must address, not avoid, to stay relevant and forward-thinking in the 21st century.
Sanders, for all the angst and cloth-rending from some quarters, elevated the conversation, brought the concerns of millions to the fore, and made the process better and our party bigger and stronger.
He deserves thanks, and credit.
I understand there is still voting, but as far as I'm concerned the primaries are basically over, for me it is time to support the nominee.
That Nominee is going to be Hillary Clinton. She absolutely deserves credit for a historic accomplishment. May her next one be even more historic.
