Source tells @jeffzeleny Warren wanted to do it same day as Obama to make it more forceful for the overall goal.

Now MSNBC is reporting that Rachel Maddow will feature EW making the endorsement on her show.

(42,862 posts)32. Pretty disgusting to use "#FeelTheUnity" when you were never a Bernie supporter.
Stay classy, HRC supporters...
Are we to understand that only Bernie supporters are the sole purveyors of who may--and may not--feel the unity, encourage it, and celebrate it? What does being a Hillary supporter have do so with that? Why does not being a Bernie fan preclude anyone from expressing that?
"Stay classy" indeed!

(42,862 posts)41. It makes plenty of sense. Not to you, perhaps, but then I never expected to change your mind.

Good day to you too, my friend.

(6,282 posts)#FeelTheBern has been a cute rallying cry of Sanders supporters and the unofficial campaign slogan. What you Hillary supporters are doing is commandeering it to indicate unity (something that Sanders supporters are not eager to do). Further, it is a haughty expression by HRC supporters that YOU should feel Unity with THEM despite no policy shifts or embrace of progressive causes. So yes, it is disrespectful and rude to misappropriate the term for your use.
That is my explanation.

(42,862 posts)You ARE being hypersensitive and it would be dishonest of me not to tell you so. If I recall correctly, you're the same person who continually took great issue when people said "Bernie fans" instead of your preferred verbiage of "Bernie supporters". Yet another example of unnecessary hypersensitivity.
51. Yes, telling the aggrieved party "you're too sensitive" is an EXCELLENT defense of your pettiness.
I'm not "defending" anything ... there's nothing to "defend". I'm just pointing out the obvious, and reminding you that this isn't the only time you've tried to pull this crap. It was absurd then, and it's absurd now.
Maybe one day we can be friends again, but if everything offends you so much, I see you're not ready to even try or even be halfway open to the idea.

(42,862 posts)54. We were never friends. Nor will we be.
I consider to be a friend anyone who's willing to join us in helping to defeat Donald Trump by supporting our party's nominee.
If you refuse to accept that, then it's your problem, not mine. If you don't want to help, that's your choice, not mine. I suppose that some people find a great deal of comfort in being perpetually angry. I don't fully understand that, but it's their decision to make.
I won't try to change your mind. I have better things to do. You'll either come around, or you won't. If you do, that's great. If you don't, well ... that says more about you than it does about me.
Goodbye for now.
JonLeibowitz
(6,282 posts)Supporting the nominee is different than voting against Trump. That is, I will never participate in her campaign.
That I won't "come around" has little to do with me: it speaks to my expectation that Hillary will not embrace progressive policies as part of her platform. I actually have no clue what "come around" is supposed to mean; falling in line is giving up. Much rather put pressure on Pols to deserve our votes.
NurseJackie
(42,862 posts)I welcome your honesty and support, friend.
It means to realize that one's "pride" is a secondary concern when it comes to voting for the candidate who can actually defeat the fascist Donald Trump. Nothing more, nothing less. (Stop trying to find hidden meanings and insults in everything that anyone writes.)

(6,551 posts)It's all for the progressive cause. Bernie most likely will suspend his campaign and so it's great that a progressive will join forces with Clinton to beat Trump.
It's all good if the chief objective at this point is to win the election and keep Trump from the presidency.
JonLeibowitz
(6,282 posts)They are furthered by activism and actual embrace of that policy by pols. Anything else is noise. Literally everyone expected Obama and Warren to endorse Hillary; the fact that they are doing so now can't mean anything about the future of progressive causes.
Just my opinion, though.
kstewart33
(6,551 posts)It could be that Warren becomes Clinton's running mate. IMHO, if that happened and Clinton won, that would be a huge step forward for Warren's and Sanders' priorities concerning the financial control wielded over our country by Wall Street and the ultra wealthy.

Now they come and do their part.
But why is nobody asking Warren why she didn't announce sooner? This is the definition of taking the easy way out.
Note: Not an under the bus throw. I like her. A lot.

(6,551 posts)Warren knew that if she endorsed Bernie earlier in the campaign, she would be alienating her Senate colleagues whose support she needs to get her legislation passed. She also figured that Bernie was a long shot to win.
We need an effective Warren in the Senate, not one weakened politically for endorsing a likely loser of the campaign.
NCTraveler
(30,481 posts)She would have lost political clout had she endorsed early. No matter who she endorsed. Warren is quickly becoming a powerhouse and she plays her hand like a master. That is why she was the first choice by most over that of Sanders in taking on Clinton.
Go Warren!!!!

(6,280 posts)... she was simply avoiding all those assholes that would do to her the same thing they did to Barbara Boxer, and all the other people who were good Progressives until they endorsed Hillary and were summarily belittled and thrown under the bus. I don't blame her at all.

(28,303 posts)I trust HRC in whatever choice she makes for VP, but Warren should would be a GOOD PICK. I don't think the Senate will be a huge worry this election. I think we'll have an impressive majority and a mandate.
