Thirty politically passionate millennials from the Netherlands who came to Philadelphia to help get out the vote for Hillary Clinton spent Saturday knocking on doors with like-minded canvassers.
Peter Black from Groningen said all the Dutch visitors are members of the Route 66 Association, a "liberal, progressive, Democratic" group of 25- to 33-year-old professionals from the Netherlands' D66 Party.
"We came partly out of curiosity about this election," Black said.
And they came partly out of fear of a Donald Trump victory, said Talitha Stam of Rotterdam. "If Hillary Clinton doesn't win, we are scared of the other option. He is dangerous, not just for America, but for our country and other countries as well."

(49,802 posts)I think I speak for many or most Democrats when I say we are not
too fond of things that tend to portray the two candidates as
identical, because it's a false equivalency on platform, politics,
personality, and to some degree on tactics, and we do think the email
issue, as was Benghazi, was manufactured by the Republicans to a
very large degree, whereas Trump has dug his own rut with his own
personality, background, and behavior. HRC has not advocated violence
during the election.

(13,913 posts)Clearly they are passionate about democracy and freedom, and have such clarity in their understanding that the fate of the world hangs in the balance should such a dangerous demagogue come into such immense power, something many trump supporters don't seem to grasp. I salute these millenials from the Netherlands.

(5,050 posts)She will love it! We just met with her and some other friends from Great Britain who are beside themselves with worry over this election. They say friends and family from back home are asking them "WTH?" and they don't know what to tell them. They are terrified. I hope I helped some. Showed them Hilary's firewall in the electoral college, which made them feel better, and talked about how well we are doing in early voting. whew...
