Amazing that Republicans were not backed into

a corner by Progressives with this...” The Real Reason Why Republicans wanted to Destroy Obamacare.”

Am I the only one that knew even before Obama took office that if a Single Payor Healthcare System was established in The U.S. the Republican Party would be toast..?

How come the Dems never adopted a strategy of equating a socialized Healthcare system with Medicare and Social Security? There should have been an ongoing attempt by the Dems to consistently remind the American Voter that Republicans were just running terrified by the thought of another extremely popular socialized program..... Framed perhaps like this...Imagine that the citizens of our Country never having to pay or deal with an Insurance Company again and having all medical bills paid by the U.S. Govt?

U think a Death Panel response would work? Crazy?

As pointed out, unless red state citizens decide that enough is enough they will continue to suffer under debilitating republican rule. Many of us, me included, left red states for blue because we had only so much energy to fight red state domination. I am hoping that Democrats will be able to unify and push back with strong state and local campaigns and candidates.

We know of prominent democrats in key positions at the time who had LONG been bought by the insurance industry. And, you have to believe at least halt the caucus had some donations to their campaigns that left them uneasy about upsetting key backers/are in districts that are competitive enough they feared the industry putting a lot of money into their races on the other ticket.

The progressives/liberals in solid districts who weren't bought did put up some fight, but going into the battle the industry had a pretty clear majority of congress bought or too scared to try to battle for single payer/universal ...

Without the money against us, we win single payer in a LANDSLIDE! But with Citizens United and the Kochs, we're screwwwed.

I suppose congress and state government has always been paid for to some extent, but they don't even try to put up a pretense at this point. Until, if ever, the people of this country tune in and actually THINK about things, it is baked in the cake.
