Mitt Romney has a very good chance of winning........

While I enjoy snarky comments and sarcasm, I think we need to focus on the reality of the upcoming Presidential election.
We are at war.
We are going to face an overwhelming amount of Money in this election.
We are going to see every dirty trick you can imagine.
Our enemies control the most of the media.( Hell, I've seen "repeal Obamacare" ads on this website !! )
Our enemies control Wall street.
Our enemies are outstanding when it comes to getting out the vote.
Our enemies have us at a disadvantage at the State and Local level.
Our enemy is pushing " all-in " RIGHT NOW
They are trying to destroy: Labor, Social Security, Education, our Elderly, our Youth , the Middle Class, The Poor , the Environment, Our Freedom, Our democratic institutions , Our Economy, and America's future.
And they are doing just for the money.
Its ok to make jokes and laugh at the insanity of these "interesting times".
But Don't underestimate the Enemy
That being said......
Here's my new attack ad against mitty:
Mitt Romney- just looking at him lowers your standard of living!
or...
Mitt Romney- just wrong for Amercia!
( Phew! had to turn off spell check for that one! )
or...
Willard "Mitt" Romney.....Yes, WILLARD!!!

Anyway, please get out the vote the best you can.

from the rolls, who will "save money" by closing voter locations, limiting voting days, not having enough machines at Democratic-heavy precincts, requiring special I.D., trying to prevent out-of-state students from voting, etc.

Lots of people said there was no way w could win. Then they said the same thing about his reelection.

This country put reagan in office for 8 years. They put (let) bush w in for 8 years. You must travel in small circles.

We sure were in 2004. We refused to believe the polls, too. It was like a physical kick to the gut when bush got a second term.

Never again will I get that cocky. It will come back every time.

Not only that, being cocky means you don't work as hard. It means you don't pay the right kind of attention. It means you dismiss anything that might make you face facts.

The fact is that Obama might lose. It's a real risk and we should not ignore that.

Don't get cocky.

Edited to add: I should also remind you to watch Florida. They're purging voters for a reason. Florida is a major player in the election. If they're allowed to continue purging, it could mean losing the WH.

Agreed the opposition will do things beyond the usual "rules" to ensure a win. Every vote counts, everyone who can vote should, and every vote should be counted.

Do what you can. Don't underestimate the repugs ability to lie, cheat and steal.
It is the Romney's of the world that PAY the media. Of course they will tell you that 'Willard' is the winning team.
Now just jump on board! Don't you want to be a winner?
And many will fall for just that. Herd animals.

Never forget that the Teaparty Party vision for Amercia is nothing better than....
One very scarey Phillip K. Dick novel.

Republicans know they can no longer win a nat'l election fair and square as they have alienated almost every possible demographic, so that's why they introduced voter ID laws in a handful of states.

And stays home.

If you don't want Romney to win then you need to be more optimistic and do all you can to help re-elect Obama and everyone else he needs to help him when he is re-elected. You need to go to your county party, district party, or local campaign and ask what you can do to help them win. And do it. And also find others to get involved.

If you don't want Romney to win you need to educate yourself about what Obama has accomplished and what can be expected if Rmoney is elected. And rebut your family, friends, co-workers about the issues when they repeat the lies they hear.

We know the tactics use on the other side and everyone needs to figure out the backdoors to defeating them at it. For instance, there are nearly a dozen states that allow voter registration online. I don't mean filling out the form, printing it, and mailing it in. I mean the form is filled online and transmitted immediately via the internet to the state database. Take advantage of it if is in your state. Find spots with wi-fi and set up tables with computers to do voter registration. If there is a confirmation provided have a printer available to print it out for the new voter or create a pdf file of it and then email it to the voter.

If absentee voting is available encourage those that are eligible to vote absentee. Remind them that they might have to travel out of town on election day unexpectedly or there might be a medical emergency or other type of emergency that makes it difficult for them to vote on election day. Point out to them that voting absentee provides them more time to fill out the ballot in their own home.

I encourage folks of my thinking to get out and vote all the time, without going to the voting booths invites more corruption from the repubs. They have bought into the tea party and radical right wingers in order to win and now their party is being controlled by radicals. VOTE!!!!!

We should also never underestimate the low-information voter. I routinely hear about news stories here on DU before I hear about them anywhere else. Out there on the street, I'm always running into people who don't even know who Mitt Romney is. They will be easy prey for RW lies if we are not diligent about getting the truth out.

23. The reason you see "repeal Obamacare" ads on this site ...
Thu May 31, 2012, 01:54 PM

... is not due to any kind of control they have over DU. Ad providers work by presenting ads according to keywords on the site. For example, if there are many instances of the word 'Obamacare' being used, the program will pull up ads relevant to the term. If people were typing 'pie' a lot, we'd get ads about pie.

At times, the program is off because it's not so good at reading context prior to choosing ads to display.

I'd like to thank all those that responded to the post.

I was mainly just concerned that many of us might be celebrating a victory too soon.

I should also note that I do not think Romney will win.

As an autoworker in Michigan, I do believe that our democracy itself is at stake. We have a governor who bypasses Democracy every chance he gets. Maybe my "alarmist" tone stems from the trip to Lansing that my father and I made a while back to Recall this guy. There were ( maybe ) 100 people. The speakers were brilliant; turnout was a stone drag....

Thanks again for responding!
