Professional Left throws Bernie under bus (Original Post) arely staircase Oct 2015 OP
Under the bus? I think it is a fair criticism of Bernie's softpeddalling a point. Tierra_y_Libertad Oct 2015 #1
I guess he wanted to play the nice guy role but I would have rather seen more of a pit bull. Cheese Sandwich Oct 2015 #23

All they do is attack Bernie and his supporters.

Instead of building up their candidate, they attack others. They don't care about party unity.

During an interview with The Hill in his West Wing office, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs blasted liberal naysayers, whom he said would never regard anything the president did as good enough.

“I hear these people saying he’s like George Bush. Those people ought to be drug tested,” Gibbs said. “I mean, it’s crazy.”
The press secretary dismissed the “professional left” in terms very similar to those used by their opponents on the ideological right
, saying, “They will be satisfied when we have Canadian healthcare and we’ve eliminated the Pentagon. That’s not reality.”

Of those who complain that Obama caved to centrists on issues such as healthcare reform, Gibbs said: “They wouldn’t be satisfied if Dennis Kucinich was president.”

The White House, constantly under fire from expected enemies on the right, has been frustrated by nightly attacks on cable news shows catering to the left, where Obama and top lieutenants like Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel have been excoriated for abandoning the public option in healthcare reform; for not moving faster to close the prison at Guantánamo Bay; and for failing, so far, to end the ban on gays serving openly in the military.

Sanders’ eagerness to forgive Clinton for any malfeasance in her email scandal was the debate’s most celebrated but disgraceful moment.

Nonsense. Bernie's obvious point was to steer the debate back onto the issues and not the salacious MSM navel-gazing on something the FBI is handling. This was not forgiveness, it was redirection.

or at least that's what we're lead to believe, does anyone truly believe that he does not have both a short and long range plan? Think back to the second(?) Obama debate where everyone thought he looked weak. The effect of a performance in an early debate is not as strongly reflected in the voting booths. What many may see as a lackluster effort on his part may be viewed as a failed attempt to assail him with meaningless issues. He will play his hand skillfully and from a position in which he has power.

It is not as if a Senator shows up for work with no idea of what is going to happen that day. The work they're doing is generally for long term projects, not like a mechanic who gets what comes in the door. To discredit him at this point means little.
