MERRY CHRISTMAS! Gyrocopter Pilot Running Against Debbie Wasserman Shultz
I missed this yesterday, as I was busy with the holiday. I woke up this wonderful Christmas morning to the front page of the Tampa Bay Times, to see he is running for her congressional seat.
Wow, another campaign finance candidate with national recognition. All we have to do is give him a few dollars like Bernie, and he's off and running! She has asked for this contest. If she won't resign from the party, then let's take her out of her congressional seat. Haul her right out of DC and back to the private sector. This is exciting, and made this adult squeal with delight, when I woke up this Christmas morning. No more Lil' Debby on our dime. Many thanks to our new candidate for standing up for the people! http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/the-buzz-florida-politics/gyrocopter-pilot-doug-hughes-to-run-against-rep-debbie-wasserman-schultz/2258888

2. Can he run if jailed?
" He agreed to plead guilty to a felony and will be sentenced next year.
His lawyers argue that the conviction does not make him ineligible to run for Congress." |

8. Poll says pretty much everyone wants to live in Florida.
ORLANDO, Fla. —
Florida has beaches, tons of theme parks, great food and temperatures in the 80s in the middle of December. Those things probably have something to do with the results of a recent Harris Poll that says Florida is the top choice of where people want to live, other than their current state. California and Hawaii were ranked No. 2 and 3 respectively. Colorado and New York rounded out the top five. However, California and New York also topped the list of where those surveyed would least like to live, followed by Alaska Mississippi and Texas. The Harris Poll, which was released Wednesday, surveyed 2,232 adults online between Nov. 11 and 16. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Politically we have some work to do. With the changing demographics and the new redistricting map things are changing. I Love Florida, lived here my entire life. I had to defend her. ![]() |

14. Not me.
I haven't been to Florida in 24 years and haven't missed a thing.
But, if it helps, people want to move to my state, Tennessee, in droves too, for the mountains, theme parks, food and temperatures and I wish I could move out. I really hated celebrating Christmas in shorts. ![]() |

12. He'll never be seated.
I doubt he has a snowball's chance in hell of defeating her in a primary. Among other things, he doesn't currently live in the district and he's likely to be incarcerated for most of the campaign. Even if he won, I suspect the House would refuse to seat him -- landing a gyrocopter on the west lawn of the Capitol pretty much makes him persona non grata.

13. Legitimate Democrats often have complete nutballs run against them.
It's a common occurrence and the nutballs never amount to anything.

15. Who's the nutball?
DWS or this guy?
Because, she's supported Republicans over Democrats and that makes her sound like a nutball to me. |
