6. How many polite, on-topic, substantive posts have you seen hidden?

I don't think it is some monumental task to write a post in such a way that it is extremely unlikely to be hidden.

Often words can be misinterpreted in a primarily text based medium such as this, so being clear on your meaning is essential to not having your words misconstrued. For example - if you are being ironic, sometimes a disclaimer at the end of the post can make that clear so people won't get the wrong idea.

As to your point, I can pretty much guarantee that this post (that I am still writing as of this moment) will not be hidden. Do you disagree? Is it difficult to say whether or not it will be hidden by six randomly selected DU members?

People could certainly refer to hidden posts elsewhere in the thread, though. Otherwise, you could deliberately say something provocative in an attempt to shut down a thread.
