4. I guess I should add that most browsers will scale the image down to fit within that rectangle.

So if you used a 1200 x 300 pixel picture, it would work but still only display at 400 x 100 pixels.

Which is mostly relevant to people putting animated gifs in their signatures. People putiing a 2Mb gif that is 300 pixels tall are just wasting everyone's bandwidth (depending on their browser's cache settings more for some people) since they could resize the image to 100 pixels high and probably reduce the file size 75% or more.

so the text wasn't quite readable. I've redone it now at 100x400 and it works fine, so thanks again.

2. I could be wrong, but I think we added a feature to automatically fit images to the profile.
