11. No, you don't understand. With 0% reporting in each county,
thousands had already voted by mail-in. They were the first numbers to come up, and Hillary won all but about 5 small counties (which showed NO mail-ins) and EVERY ONE IF THEM was 63-37. All of them.

(15,139 posts)be whatever the Dem Party establishment in the state wants them to be. The AP story no doubt depressed some of the turnout and had some voters deciding to go "with the winner" at the last minute. But there appears to be even more at play here. Polling place screw ups, ballot shortages, people mistakenly registered with the rightwing American Independent Party who couldn't vote Dem. And now the numbers not shifting as is typical after what used to be called "absentee ballots" are counted. A fitting end, perhaps, to a long primary season in which the winner was never really in doubt because TPTB rigged it from the get go.
A Facebook friend just posted a newspaper headline on my feed proclaiming a "Historic Win" for Hillary. The comments that follow leave no doubt that she's in for a rough ride and the political fight of her life. It will be an interesting fall.

Many times a poster was counted as twice recommending a thread. TWICE, In other words, counted as having two votes.
Computers are so easy to make do weird things.

(15,139 posts)properly counted. It's something you have to take on blind faith..or not.
In a state in which Bernie campaigned so incredibly hard, I find it impossible to believe the numbers don't reflect the polls, which had the race in a statistical tie. I checked out the percent of registered voters in each county who cast ballots as reported on the Secretary of State's website, and the turnout was abysmally low. Voter suppression apparently works.
Democracy is all an illusion anyway. I watched George Carlin's famous rant on YouTube the other night. The one where he reminds the audience who the real owners of the country are. It isn't us. We can pretend our vote counts, but in the end it's all smoke and mirrors.

Not even the 2000 election can convince the addicted deniers that the system allows and condones the theft of elections.
