Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumStill undecided, but I am focused on six primary candidates and ruled three out.
I am looking closely at the following six declared/undeclared candidates: Biden, Brown, Harrie, Inslee, O'Rourk and Warren.
I ruled out he following three for the primary: Bloomberg, Gabbard and Sanders.
I want to also take a moment to mention Mayor Pete Buttigieg for his great profile and message and hope that he never rules out future run for Congress, the Senate or Governor.

(42,770 posts)go with someone who has the highest probability of winning. Of course someone who shares our basic values but someone who may not be our perfect personal match. 4 more years of trump would be suicide for us as a nation.
If you crunch the numbers, we have to take either all of the three - WI MI and PA (or a more difficult replacement) or take TX. (Where trump approval is lower than all of the three plus NC, FL)
I believe Biden plus a younger VP is that team who has the best chance. Dems polls show that all Dems as a group want us to moderate to win and the most important thing is to beat Trump. Doesn't represent people here, but is reality.
I like Biden/Beto. And I picture the senior Dem voter being so excited to vote. We are honoring age, wisdom, and experience and matching that with a young intelligent optimist partner who has proven he can draw crowds if thousands of young people and that reminds them of their grandkids.
If we were hurting to win NY, CT, CA, a progressive would be perfect. But in the scenario today, we are not.

(6,280 posts).... but things have a way of changing over time. If I had to rule out certain candidates the three you mentioned would be on that list but I would have to add a fourth which would be gillibrand. Whichever candidate is left standing will of course get my vote. The degree of enthusiasm in casting that vote will depend upon who the nominee is.

(2,343 posts)with a brilliant plan during my executive time. What if we decided as a country that this current shit show administration F'd the country so badly that we need a panel of 7 people to work the next four years to put this country back on track? Of course those 7 people would come from the pool of candidates running for the Democratic nomination. That way, most of us would be happy. Man, maybe there is something to this "executive time"...
