Whip list: Who's clinched a spot in the 2020 Democratic debates

A crowded field of two dozen Democrats are jostling for one of the 20 spots in the debates set to kick off next month, in what could provide a make-or-break moment for the campaigns.

To qualify, a candidate has to either receive donations from at least 65,000 individual donors or register 1 percent support in three polls approved by the Democratic National Committee (DNC).

The DNC has said it will prioritize candidates who meet both thresholds if more than 20 contenders hit at least one of the qualifications and could then use a series of tiebreakers to further narrow down the field.

Here is where 2020 contenders stand in terms of getting themselves to the debate stage.

1. So glad Tulsi nabbed a spot!

She is so refreshing, honest, well spoken and charismatic. Not afraid to speak truth to power.

4. But we want someone who can handle great power

in a predictable, trustworthy, honorable and very competent way. Her willingness to offend those in power by saying what she thinks you want to hear would be worthless.

And as for what would be of use, have you noticed that no one ever seeks her guidance or leadership? Always consider what people who know the candidates personally think of them.

Gabbard's biggest supporters that we've identified are Russia's counterintelligence agencies. Are you really comfortable admiring someone who doesn't even at least denounce Putin's support and tell you what to refuse to read or listen to because it comes from him?

10. She has served in combat, and it has shaped her foriegn policy. I trust her in that arena

She is very methodical and thoughtful in every answer she gives. There are those at the top that do not want to see her advance because she is fully against 'regime change' wars, which not all of the Democrats running are. As well she threatens the status quo as far as accepting corporate donations. Very few want to be seen "taking advice from her". And that is what is exciting about her.

There is a difference in Trumps pro Putin subservience and Gabbard's blanket opposition to ALL regime change wars, including against Russia. Or Trump's call for peace, so he can get a Moscow Trump tower, and Gabbards call for peace for, i don't know, the survival of the planet? Her willingness to sit down with Assad, or whomever to reach that peace. She is consistent at least.

We’ve Hit a New Low in Campaign Hit Pieces

Recent efforts to sandbag Bernie Sanders and Tulsi Gabbard are crude repeats of behaviors that helped elect Trump in 2016

5. List is incorrect in Inslee's case.

He has met the threshold of 65,000 donors but not the 1% polling requirement.

6. I'm really sorry Gov. Inslee didn't make the cut.

A very good man who'd also make a good president.

He has met the polling threshold.

11. Who is Marianne Williamson and how did she clear the threshold?

Is she our own Trump? A celebrity with no experience in public life? Has she ever been elected to anything?

12. A little info

Marianne Deborah Williamson (born July 8, 1952)[1] is an American author, lecturer, and activist. She has written 13 books,[2] including four New York Times number one bestsellers.[3] She is the founder of Project Angel Food, a volunteer food delivery program that serves home-bound people with AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses.[4] She is also the co-founder of The Peace Alliance, a nonprofit grassroots education and advocacy organization supporting peace-building projects.[5]

In 2014, as an Independent, Williamson ran unsuccessfully for the seat of California's 33rd congressional district in the United States House of Representatives elections in California. On January 29, 2019, she announced her campaign to seek the Democratic nomination for the 2020 United States presidential election.[6]

I am intrigued by Marianne making the debate and believe she could become a sleeper, just a gut feeling.

13. Thus, she is one of those who wakes up one morning and decided to be a president

As it is often said: this is a free country and everyone can dream. What I don't understand is all those who provided support for her to qualify. Do people really believe that anyone can be president - based on the current occupier, destroying the country notwithstanding - or to they just want to shake the campaign?

Is this the beginning of Republican operators creating mayhem in the campaign?
