"SNIP.....

Of the two dozen Democrats running for president, The Hill finds 12 have met both the polling and donor thresholds set by the DNC to participate in the first debates, while six others have cleared the polling threshold.

Five candidates are still in a scramble to reach either requirement: Bill de Blasio, Seth Moutlon, Michael Bennet, Mike Gravel and Wayne Messam.

.....SNIP"

4. Agreed! And too many non-Dems too.

There are too many Dems running.
Agreed! And too many non-Dems too. Fact of the matter is this: We have an abundance of riches right here within our own party... loyal Democrats who SUPPORT the party and who are actual members of the party.

All I'm trying to say is that it's impossible for me to ever support anyone who has such open hostility and contempt for Democrats and the Democratic party. Every insult, every smear, every lie... it was like a knife in my heart. I'll never forget, and I'll never forgive.

2. Note there is a limit of 20 candidates. So if in the end more than 20 meet requirements...

"tiebreakers" eliminate some.

5. I thought the debates...

...were limited to 20. So, as long as there are more than 20, they are always going to be, "Still fighting to make the debates."

6. Some might see a message there.

Perhaps, just perhaps, the voters might be sending a message to these candidates.

10. That's the idea of having the DNC rule in the first place.

If you don't meet the requirements and raise the necessary support, you're out. Democracy at work.
