Biden thinks Georgia may be a good place to find a veep

When former Vice President Joe Biden was in Atlanta for the Democratic presidential debate, he must have had potential running mates on his mind.

During a campaign stop in Iowa, he recently suggested a pair of Georgians as possible candidates for his old job: Stacey Abrams and Sally Yates.

He didnít go into specifics, and he didnít limit his options to just the two Georgians, The Des Moines Register reported.

ďI could start naming people but the press will think thatís who I picked,Ē Biden said, and then ó while eschewing names ó he gave highly specific clues about who he thought were good options for No. 2 on the Democratic ticket.

1. Not gonna happen, since Biden will NOT be the Democratic nominee for President.

Bernie/Elizabeth or Elizabeth/Bernie 2020!!
Either way, they're stronger together!!
Welcome to the revolution!!!

10. She's the mayor Atlanta needs right now. She's fantastic for the city.

While I have no doubt she would make a great VP candidate, Iím a little selfish about keeping her in our city.

But if we must give her up to join Biden, I suppose I can live with it.

9. Almost all trial balloons for VP are floated to attract attention

only the last one in the weeks before the convention is chosen

My guess is Joe will go with Amy to capture midwest enthusiasm and centrist support.

15. I think it will be Pete

Just have a feeling. Everyone is presuming it has to be a woman or person of color, all Biden has said about it is basically ďIt would be great to have X, Y, or Z as a VPĒ, so he hasnít boxed himself in.

21. Not sure what Pete brings to the ticket that a Women, PoC, or Sherrod Brown-esque moderate

wouldn't bring better.

He's a top of the ticket candidate, doesn't bring his state or make it competitive and Biden's strongest base, at the moment, is PoC (specifically latinx voters, older black voters and black women). Biden's pick will probably be someone that excites the base, as 2020 will come down to turnout, or someone that plays well enough in the rust belt to secure the blue wall.

I think Pete will be an ambassador in a future Biden administration.

17. Won't be Stacy Abrams

She already said no and in fact seemed annoyed, that she was being used as a political prop by Biden.

19. In 2015 Biden wanted Elizabeth Warren for his running mate

if he ran. We know he didn't, but he did meet with her to discuss it; she was reportedly noncommittal but open.

As we know, Hillary wanted her also and Warren joined her on the stump for a trial run, but...two women, two white women, when we'd never even had a female VP.
