Yavin4's JournalHonoring the troops with gestures is not a substitute for real policy actions
Instead of honoring troops killed in combat, why not remove them from the battlefield entirely and don't return them until a genuine threat to America's safety emerges.
Instead of standing for the national anthem at a football game, why not improve the overall health care system for returning veterans making good on an actual promise.
Real policy actions speak louder than gestures.

I'm just waiting for the media to blame Hillary for OJ
It's a mathematical certainty at this point.
A true conservative would be in support of NFL players kneeling
If you are a true conservative that believes in small government, you would be in full support of professional athletes taking a knee. You would be sympathetic to their protesting the use of government lethal force to take innocent lives of citizens. You would be opposed to a president issuing an edict for them to participate in a ritual.
The fact that conservatives are not rallying in support of NFL players just shows that what they truly are about is preserving White supremacy in its many forms. They just love big government when it comes to shooting Black men dead in the streets. They just love big government when its their president dictating to Black athletes and media types on how to behave and what to say.
Conservatives are not conservatives. They're just fucking racists.

Maybe we need a national strike to force congress to enact some sensible firearms laws
Our political power can be gerrymandered or suppressed, but our economic power is still viable and strong. What if we decided to not go to work one day and cripple the country economically. Maybe that would motivate congress to act.
Now, I understand that most people cannot risk losing their jobs. I get that. So, as an alternative, we can have a national consumer strike. If everyone in the nation decided not to buy anything until sensible gun laws are enacted, that too would send a message.
What if you're a victim of a mass shooter but you don't have health insurance?
What if you're seriously wounded by a mass shooter and you don't have health insurance. Is the hospital allowed to deny you treatment? If they cannot, then who pays for your treatment? The mass shooter? What if the mass shooter is killed? Then what? Who pays?
How can health care be a privilege, but ownership of weapons of mass killings is a right?
--On Edit--
Most of the responses to my question is that the hospitals have to treat the victims. Forcing someone to provide a service? According to Rand Paul, why, that's slavery!

If it was up to Paul, the Vegas victims without health insurance should be left to die in the street. We don't want to enslave the doctors, now do we?
