Trump cannot handle, avoid, or distract from this virus.

Trump has tried every trick in his bag, but he cannot handle, avoid, or distract from this virus. Being overly-optimistic has not worked. Lying about prepardness has not worked. Talking up miracle cures has not worked. Having daily press briefings has not worked. Stop having daily press briefings has not worked. Bashing Dr. Fauci has not worked. Distracting from the news with "Obamagate" has not worked. Blaming the Chinese has not worked. Promoting the lockdown protestors has not worked.

Every day the main stories have been either the virus or the depressed economy, and Trump's mis-management of both. These crises require real leadership, and he's simply not up to the task. Trump's a marketer, not a leader or a manager.

I have a question for Fox News. You argued during impeachment that a president can do what he wants.

Including bribing a foreign government to investigate his political rival. Using your logic, wasn't President Obama well within his rights to unmask Flynn?

Have you put on weight since the quarantine?

I think that I have gained 15 to 25 pounds. I've been stress eating since March. Couple that with no gym, and I have packed on the pounds.

I use my gym to relieve my stress which controls my eating. Without working out, my eating habits get out of control.

I've been taking long walks, but it's dangerous because so many people are irresponsible. They're not wearing masks. People are hanging out.

I've got to clean up my diet next week.

Trump is setting up the governors.

He's encouraging them to re-open, but offers no plan.

Says there are tests for everyone, but there aren't any.

If they re-open and there are no spikes, then Trump will take all of the credit.

If they re-open and there are spikes, then Trump will blame the governors.

If they don't re-open, then he will use that as a campaign issue in their state and blame the poor economy on the governor for not re-opening.

Trump is now saying that his admin put together a better pandemic response plan than Obama.

That the Obama Biden plan was insufficient. Last August, his administration put together a more detailed plan with a follow up, detailed report.

--On Edit--

In the image, Kayleigh McEnany holds Obama's plan in her right hand while holding Trump's plans in the binders in her left.

My humble and unorthodox advice to the Biden campaign is...just start governing.

You cannot campaign in the traditional sense. You cannot hold rallies and pose with supporters. So, what do you do? Just start governing. Act like you're the president.

Assemble your own pandemic response team of experienced professionals and detail how you would handle the health crisis.

Assemble your own economic team to and detail how you would handle the economic crisis.

Hold a virtual joint press conference with the governors.

Hold a virtual joint press conference with African American leaders.

Hold a virtual joint press conference with progressives like the squad.

Hold a virtual joint press conference with seniors.

Schedule these events every day.

Contrasting your steady leadership with Trump by doing these daily sessions which show how you would govern will provide reassurance that there is a return to normalcy.

Countries that are Winning, Nearly There, and Need to Take Action.

This is the link to the charts that Chris Hayes was talking about. The visualizations show how countries are doing the best against the virus. Guess which group the US is in.

Note: Bhutan thinks that they're "Frasier".

Ezra Klein Podcast: "Why Bernie Sanders lost and how progressives can still win."

I'm not posting this to spike the football on Bernie. I am posting this as a Progressive and budding Data Scientist. These points are taken from a podcast between Ezra Klein (Vox) and Sean McElwee, the co-founder and executive director of Data for Progress, an organization that utilizes cutting-edge polling and data-analysis techniques to support progressive causes. His aim is to fashion an agenda that is both progressive and popular.

The full conversation is here: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/why-bernie-sanders-lost-and-how-progressives-can-still-win/id1081584611?i=1000471626246

It's perhaps the best political analysis that I've heard so from anyone.

Key takeaways:

It is extremely difficult to significantly change the composition of the electorate via an inspiring campaign or a killer field operation. It has been tried many, many times and almost always ends in failure.

There is a way to change the composition of the electorate: by changing laws. Legal and structural reform that focuses on a) making it easier to vote (e.g. automatic voter registration) or b) giving people something valuable to protect (e.g. Medicaid expansion) works.

Incremental legislative victories are an important though often overlooked way of shifting public opinion. In order to pass a major, structural change like Medicare-for-all, you need to prove your theory of the case to voters who are skeptical of change by showing that smaller, incremental changes like Medicaid expansion or lowering prescription drug costs can pass and work when implemented. Those smaller victories are like an investment in the future — they build public confidence in reform that can be cashed in for bigger reform later.
