Republican Committee Confuses 'Game of Thrones' With 'Lord of the Rings' in Parody Web Game

The parody game targets four Democratic congressional candidates, each of whom the committee has assigned a noble house name, all presided over by "the Kingdom of Pelosi," a.k.a House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. All four are running for the seat currently held by Republican Gary Mille in California's 31st congressional district.

Liberal website Think Progress has already published a takedown of the parody game, pointing out that the maps drawn by the NRCC look a lot more like Middle Earth from J.R.R. Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" than the world created by George R.R. Martin for his "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, the basis for "Game of Thrones.

Now that a Democratic President Openly Supports the Drone Program and NSA Spying...

the cheap politics of these issues are dismissed, and now, it's up to the public to elect leaders, either Repubs or Dems, who will vote to stop these programs or restrain them.

For example, let's say that Obama came out against both and stopped them cold, and another major terrorist by foreign interests happens. Then, the Republicans would use it as a cheap political issue much like they used in the Cold War throughout the 70s and 80s. They would run on re-instating these programs and appear stronger on "war on terror".

The cheap politics of the "war on terror" are over, and now we can have a sober debate about security vs privacy. The issue is now in the hands of the American people to decide if they want to take back their privacy or not.

The king of Scotland was fighting the Black Douglas clan. He reached out to make peace. He offered the young Earl of Douglas safe passage. He came to Edinburgh Castle and had a great feast. They dragged them out and put them to death in the courtyard," Martin told EW.

"The larger instance was the Glencoe Massacre. Clan MacDonald stayed with the Campbell clan overnight and the laws of hospitality supposedly applied. But the Campbells arose and started butchering every MacDonald they could get their hands on. No matter how much I make up, there’s stuff in history that’s just as bad, or worse."

To this day, the door at Clachaig Inn in Glen Coe has a sign on the door denying entry to Campbells.
