Yavin4
Yavin4's JournalI'm old enough to remember renting videos from the video rental store.
Back in my day, if you wanted a movie, you had to go to the local video rental store, and if they didn't have the title that you were looking for, too bad. You rented something else. And hey, if you were late returning the videos, you paid the late fee. And, if you didn't rewind the video, that was another fee. And, you had to pay a yearly membership fee and leave an imprint of your credit card on file.
You kids today with your streaming and binging. You don't how hard we had it back in the day.
Is there data tracking the number of vaccinations for covid-19?
Thanks in advance.
Democrats win or lose elections based on one thing: How much did they do to help people?
That help has to be demonstrative and clear. Take the ACA as an example. The two major pieces of that legislative package were: the expansion of Medicaid and regulation of the insurance which allowed people to buy health insurance with pre-existing conditions.
In 2018 and 2020, Democrats won largely based on their record with healthcare. Getting rid of pre-existing conditions was so popular even Republicans caved in on it.
At the link, look at the states that have passed the Medicaid expansion some of which include rock red states like Idaho and Montana:

Other bedrock Democratic Progressive issues are popular as well.
Read about the states that Trump won and still voted for raising the minimum wage above the federal level:

Read about states that legalized marijuana:

Yes, we are a divided nation, esp. on cultural issues, but there is mass general agreement on major progressive issues like healthcare, the minimum wage, marijuana legalization, and education.
Progressive causes that actually help people directly in their every day lives are more popular than any politician or political party. My advice is instead of trying to appeal to moderates or conservatives, instead of trying to win over Republicans, focus on passing those policies that actually help people in their every day lives.
Without a record of achievement, the Democrats will lose across the board, and it won't matter if Joe Manchin gets along with AOC.
I am envious of the Trump supporters for this. (Seriously)
I wished that Democrats were as hardcore about challenging the 2000 election as Republicans are about the 2020 election. In 2000, we did have the evidence that Gore won Florida, but we didn't press hard enough for a statewide recount where we would have won.
How will we know if/when the vaccine is effective?
Would it show up in the infection rate? If so, what is the metric? A 10-day rolling average? A 7-day rolling average? Rate of vaccinations? No new outbreaks?
--On Edit--
I need a subject for my graduate project in Data Science. I'm thinking of building a Time Series model to track covid-19 and the vaccine. I may take a run at it and see what I can do. Do you think its worthwhile?
How many AGs, Press Secretaries, National Security Advisors, FBI directors,
Chiefs of staffs, Secretary of Defense did Trump have?
Right now, Trump leads in the electoral college 56 to 52
The odds of Biden overcoming that lead is 1 in 1,000,000,000,000,000
Gov. Cuomo and the Clintons cast ballots in New York's Electoral College vote

That's going to leave a mark.
The same party that's saying No to another stimulus during a national emergency is the same...
party that passed massive tax cuts for corporations when they were sitting on record profits.
