Does Mike Pence not know how much he is despised and hated by the Republican base?

Does he truly believe that he has a political future?

IF he had the courage to do the right thing, he would go down in history as one of the good guys of the American experiment.

But, for some reason, he refuses to step forward. Perhaps he is fearful for his life?

Does he realize that he is the game changer?

Which would be better to mail to the public? Masks or tests?

The government is readying to mail out millions of tests so Americans can test themselves for Covid. Is that the best way to fight this virus?

Would it be better to mail out N-95 masks to every family in America?

I have heard medical experts say that the number of cases would drop dramatically in a matter of weeks if everyone were to wear masks?

However, I suppose it is good to know if you have the Omicron or not?

Does anyone know if FOX has yet reported on the indictment of the Oath Keepers..?

For seditious conspiracy?

They have been pointing out to their viewers for the last few months that no one has been indicted for anything serious, like sedition or treason.

Well, it now has happened.

I suppose they think they can keep it hid from everyone that watches FOX News, and that is all that is important to them?

Maybe they believe it is "fake news"?

They should be careful that they do not lose their credibility with the sheep.

The Republican Party seems to be a criminal enterprise.

It's not that they did not know Trump was a criminal. They knew. They just didn't care.

From Paul Manafort to Roger Stone to all the criminal activities surrounding the last election to public knowledge of crimes to an insurrection to overthrow an election, they did nothing.

What are reasonable people supposed to think?

They do not care about this country and they do not care about their supporters. They only care about power.

As Maya Angelou said, when people show you who they are, believe them.

How big of a story is the forged electoral documents?

They signed their names to them.

Who advised them to do that?

Did they know it was illegal?

It is now reported that it happened in seven states!

This part of the coup was well-planned and coordinated.

Is there any Republican that wasn't involved in this conspiracy?

A very serious question.

Did anyone at the White House or in the Congress conspire with the Oath Keepers on January 6th?

The plot has thickened.

Eleven members of the Oath Keepers have been charged with seditious conspiracy. This is a very serious charge. If they communicated or conspired with a member of Congress or anyone in the White House, then they could also be charged with seditious conspiracy.

It does not look good that members of Congress, like McCarthy and Jordan, are refusing to cooperate with the investigation.

When the Committee gets the phone records and emails, they may uncover more of this story?

One response from Trump's NPR interview that hangs out there...

When questioned about why Rudy Guiliani and his lawyers never brought up "fraud" in front of any of the courts? Yet, they were telling their supporters the election was a "fraud"? In other words, they were in front of the judges and they had no evidence whatsoever. Any wonder why the judges ruled against them in almost every single case, except the one where the poll watchers were permitted to stand closer.

Trump said:

"It was too early to ask for fraud and to talk about fraud. Rudy said that, because of the fact it was very early with the — because that was obviously at a very, very — that was a long time ago. The things that have found out have more than bore out what people thought and what people felt and what people found."

It was too early to ask for fraud???

The Republican Party has made a decision about Trump.

One can see it in the comments of prominent Senators, in the last few days. Thune and Rounds from the Dakotas have spoken up. Rounds was very outspoken about it. It felt like a change in the air for Republicans.

McConnell appears to have run out of patience with Trump? Perhaps he got tired of being called names through Trump's public humiliation comments? It has been a year since the hideous act of January 6th, perhaps it is time to put it all behind us, and move on as a Party, McConnell seems to be saying?

Still, it does seem, from some perspective, that the Trump/McConnell/Republican Party coalition are going thru a change. There may be a divorce?

There is no precedent for what is happening in America at this time.

There is no where to look back to our past and learn from an attempted coup, conspired and led by a former President. There are no guide rules to tell us what we should do?

We are in new territory. We do not know what is around the bend?

That is why we need wise leaders at this time. We need decision makers that can put politics aside and work for the continued survival of our democracy. We will not miss the water until the well runs dry.

Decisions should be made very carefully but they should be made. History has put us in this place and gave us no map on how to get out?

Two measures that can help preserve American democracy.

In my opinion, getting rid of the filibuster is necessary to prevent control by the minority. That cannot be permitted in a democracy.

Secondly, it is necessary to have a strong but fair justice system. If some folks are "above the law", the justice system cannot work. They would lose all credibility.

We need to strengthen our justice system and do away with the filibuster. In my opinion, those two measures would help to preserve our democracy.
