God's Will Be Done

Peace.

Intentional or not, it's a huge distraction from the "Main Event"...

Which will be the trial of Donald Trump.

I guess that is not necessarily a bad thing?

Jesus could stand beside Donald Trump and talk to all of his supporters...

And tell them that Donald Trump lied to them. He used them. They were foolish to put their faith in the words of a dishonest man.

And the Trump supporters would say: "What does he know? He is just a man. He is flesh and blood just like it says in the Bible. Even Jesus can be wrong. We believe in Donald Trump with all our hearts. He is a good Christian man."

That is the cult we are dealing with.

None so blind as those who cannot see...

Jeremiah 5:21-23

‘Hear this now, O foolish people,
Without understanding,
Who have eyes and see not,
And who have ears and hear not:

Do you not fear Me?’ says the Lord.
‘Will you not tremble at My presence,
Who have placed the sand as the bound of the sea,
By a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass beyond it?
And though its waves toss to and fro,
Yet they cannot prevail;
Though they roar, yet they cannot pass over it.

But this people has a defiant and rebellious heart;
They have revolted and departed.

Can the Republicans garner 17 Senators to save their Party?

Seventeen Senators out of fifty is all that they need.

More than that number will not be running for re-election for another four to six years. So it should be an easy vote for them.

But they are scared to death. There is little courage or common sense to be found.

Do they realize that their Party is in its death throes? They cannot hitch their wagon to something so grotesque and conspiratorial as the present base of their Party and expect to survive. Surely there are seventeen of them that realize that?

Once history is recorded, they cannot erase it. It would serve them well to do some really deep soul-searching. They are lost in the forest of lies.

What should be the strategy when the Senate fails to convict?

I heard Tim Kaine yesterday on one of the networks saying that he was worried that they would acquit Trump once again and how that would appear to the masses?

Just because the Senate acquits does not mean he is innocent. But, that is the narrative they would love to spin.

Once again, the criminal will escape justice. It's much like releasing Jack the Ripper to continue his crime spree.

So, what should be done?

We have no AG at the present time because Lindsey Graham and Mitch McConnell are holding up the process. We can only guess why?

But what should be done once the Justice Department is complete and we have an Attorney General leading it?

In my opinion, he should be immediately indicted and charged with conspiracy and sedition against our government.

Also, I think the state of Georgia should proceed with their election fraud charges from his actions in the last election.

Furthermore, whatever outstanding charges that NY State or the SDNY have been holding, they should proceed expeditiously.

Whatever happens, the Senate vote cannot be the final word.

BENEDICT DONALD

There is no more to say.

How can they make the argument that you cannot impeach a President no longer in office?

What are they talking about?

He was impeached while he was still in office.

Do they mean he can be impeached but he cannot be convicted because the clock ran out? Is that their argument?

That seems like a rather weak argument. If he had won the election and had been impeached in a similar manner, would they have argued that it was "unconstitutional" also?

That is sort of like a bank robbery in action but it turns midnight and all the cops are off shift. Do they just get to leave the scene of the crime and go home and let the bank-robbers drive away without any interference from the authorities?

The cops cannot go home until the robbers are caught and held accountable.

If Trump is not held accountable, the next time will be worse than the storming of the Capitol.

We do not know what it will be? We cannot predict the actions of a madman.

But, we know there is a pattern. Each time he gets away with something, he goes for a bigger prize.

As soon as he won the nomination for the Presidency, he decided to take charge. He had General Flynn talking with the Russian before he was ever inaugurated. He was not yet President. But everybody coddled him. He was just "unconventional". He would grow into the job, they said.

Then when a Special Counsel was named to investigate what role Russia played in our election of 2016, he ignored all laws and norms to obstruct the investigation. There were a reported ten separate incidents of obstruction of justice, according to the Mueller Report.

Then, when his self-picked Attorney General, William Barr, declared him innocent of all charges in the Mueller Report, the very next day he was on the phone with the new President of Ukraine, attempting to bribe him to get dirt on Joe Biden, who he thought would be his next political opponent. He was impeached by the House of Representatives for his illegal behavior.

Each time he got more and more daring. He blatantly interfered with election officials in several states and accused his opponents of "rigged" elections. He lied to his supporters over and over again. He built a network of shady right-wing characters, such as QAnon, 3Percenters, the OathKeepers, and other white-supremacists groups. He said he had all the "tough" people. He encouraged all of them to come to Washington on January 6th, 2021. He knew who was going to show up and what they were capable of doing. He told them to walk down to the Capitol, when the plan was for them to stay at the Ellipsis until the vote was over. He said he would go with them.

So, we saw what happened and we saw what he did and didn't do. None of it would have happened if not for him. He invited them to come to a "wild" event. He incited them to go to the Capitol. Then he sat and watched TV and did nothing as they were terrorizing those inside the Capitol.

If he gets another chance, he will do more damage. And it could be much worse than anything we have seen up to this point. There is a pattern there.
