They were absent. They did not vote against a Commission to investigate 1/6. But, again, they did not vote for a Commission either.
What was their message? (It is reported that Patty Murray was absent because of a personal issue in the family) But what about all the others?
What is their excuse?
The security of our democracy at stake, and they do not show up.
We need to change the paradigm.
The usual way of thinking about January 6th is not working.
We need a new way of looking at it.
We need a paradigm shift.
We need a shock to the system, in my opinion.
We need to trace the problem to its source and change the way we think about it.
Perhaps Republicans do not deserve the respect or credibility of a national Political Party?
Perhaps someone should be charged and arrested?
Insanity is doing and saying the same thing over and over. Perhaps we should not do it anymore?
What can we do to shock the system into a paradigm shift?
McGahn can decline to answer any questions to his own liking
Don McGahn is scheduled to testify before the House Judiciary Committee next Friday.

McGahn's newfound compliance follows a deal that was struck earlier this month, in which House Democrats and the Justice Department agreed to allow committee members to question McGahn on the accuracy of the many incidents detailed in the Mueller report, namely Trump's effort to remove Mueller.
Shortly following the announcement of the deal last month, a Trump lawyer signaled that the former president would attempt to intervene, according to the Times. Former presidents typically reserve the right to invoke executive privilege on cases like these, which would allow Trump to effectively block the proceeding from taking place.
However, in an unexpected turn of events, Patrick Philbin, a former deputy White House counsel to Trump, revealed that the former President had no intention of swaying the course of the proceeding. The Times noted that Trump's sudden change of heart could be accounted for by the fact that Trump would have to front the cost of the legal battle.
Though the future session marks a decisive win for House Democrats finally looking to uncover the details behind McGahn's role in the scandal, McGahn can decline to answer any questions to his own liking. The Justice Department can also invoke executive privilege, meaning that any questions deemed confidential will be dismissed.
What is the "truth" they are so frightened of?
Is it the "attempted coup"?
Is it the threat of being primaried if they speak out?
Is it the collusion and complicity of fellow Republicans?
Is it the possible criminal liability?
Is it Donald Trump's gathering and incitement of an insurrection?
Is it their fear of losing their next election?
Which "truth" are they most fearful of?
It is not possible to appeal to their shame or their patriotism...
Democrats should attempt to appeal to their common interests.
First of all, Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy do not have the interest of the country or the interest of their Party at heart.
There are Republicans that do not run for office again for 4 to 6 years. There are many of them. There are some Republicans that did not support the attack upon our Capitol. They should not be voting with Mitch McConnell. They should declare independence from this partisan charade.
They should be voting to save the Republican Party and their own honor.
They owe Mitch McConnell nothing.
They should vote to get to the truth and to save their Republican Party.
They cannot be shamed into voting.
Witnesses are being called before the Special Grand Jury.
Does that mean that they are much farther along than many might suspect? A legal expert on one to the cable channels suggested that was the case.
Although the Grand Jury has been convened to last as long as six months, the legal expert thought it would only go on for a few weeks before indictments are handed down.
It's a good bet that they are nearer the end than the beginning. They have had the tax files and access to witnesses for some time.
Most of the legal scholars agree that there is something there or they would not have announced that a Grand Jury had been convened.
It's just a matter of time before "someone" is charged. We do not know who that will be?
"Keep away from them."
"I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people.
Romans 16:17-18
Republicans have chosen to live the lie and to deny the truth.
Nobody can change their minds. It is who they are.
They are wallowing in the mud but they hope by the next election it will all turn to warm sand and they will be living in paradise.
After all, if they simply ignore the truth, all their supporters will agree with them. Because they cannot think on their own. They will believe what their leaders tell them.
Because they hate Democrats. Nothing can be worse than to have to agree with Democrats.
Democrats really have only one option. They can wait until the next election and defeat them at the polls. Any other option would probably result in violence?
Republicans have never been able to look into the future. They live in the moment. And at this moment, they are living a lie.
Republicans will never do what's right by following McConnell, McCarthy, and Trump...
They must separate from that corrupt gang if they wish to do what is best for our country.
Not just Trump, but McConnell and McCarthy, also.
When does the fever break?
As the Cult of Eternal Denial refuses to vote for a Commission to get to the truth about January 6th, some still hold out hope that there will be a "Eureka!" moment and the Democrats and Republicans will join together in a bi-partisan way to vote for what is best for America. It's not going to happen anytime soon.
They do not see the need to vote for a Commission to get to the truth because they already know the truth. They just don't want the rest of America to know it. They were complicit on January 6th and they continue to be complicit.
They are pulling the wool over Republican voters' eyes. They want them to believe that it is the Democrats playing "politics" with the issue of attacking our Capitol. It's hard for it not to be a "political" issue when our Capitol is attacked. So, Mitch McConnell may have a point there?
When does the fever break? When the Republican voters in this country send a message to the criminal lackeys in Washington. When the Republicans in this country put their nation over their corrupt Party and do what is best for all of America. Then, the fever might break?
