Republicans are apathetic. (Not pathetic)

They are indifferent. They are capable of blocking out reality.

In Wikipedia, "apathy" is defined as: Apathy is a lack of feeling, emotion, interest, or concern about something. It is a state of indifference, or the suppression of emotions such as concern, excitement, ...

That seems to be where the Republican leadership, in Washington, is at this time.

They are so "apathetic" that they went five days before they were capable of criticizing one of their own for comparing the wearing of a mask, (for health purposes), to the Holocaust.

You can't help but feel sorry for them. They have sacrificed everything to follow a cult of personality. They can no longer distinguish between a lie and the truth. It is beyond cognitive dissonance.

53% of Republicans view Trump as true U.S. president -Reuters/Ipsos

How is this possible? Because they are being told to believe it by FOX , Newsmax, OAN, and right-wing radio. It's too bad they do not have to tell the truth. Even worse, they do not have to not tell a lie. I am at the point where I do not believe Democrats can fix this problem. It is a problem of the Republicans. It is up to them to fix it.

A majority of Republicans still believe Donald Trump won the 2020 U.S. presidential election and blame his loss to Joe Biden on illegal voting, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll.

The May 17-19 national poll found that 53% of Republicans believe Trump, their party's nominee, is the “true president” now, compared to 3% of Democrats and 25% of all Americans.

What crimes has Donald Trump committed?

Nobody can prove anything on Donald Trump. They just don't have the proof.

But, what crimes do you think he has committed?

Why is it so difficult to bring charges against him?

A "Commission" I would like to see.

Senator Schumer will request a vote on the 1/6 Commission tomorrow, CNN is reporting.

It is expected that Senators will vote mostly party line and the creation of the Commission to investigate an attack upon our Capitol will be defeated.

Perhaps it might be better if they created a "Commission" to simply get a half-dozen of Democrats and a half-dozen of Republicans together? Just to see if they can communicate? Just to see if they can stay in the same room together?

Because until there is some sort of communication between the opposing Parties, it is all a waste of time.

Why the Grand Jury at this time?

What did they discover to make them believe they have enough evidence to charge the Trump Organization with a crime? When did they discover this info?

Are they going after Weisselberg? Or someone else in the family?

Did they discover evidence in the many devices of Rudy Giuliani?

Do they know what Don McGahn is going to testify about next week?

Have the prosecutors discovered something in the Trump tax returns?

There are many questions surrounding the announcement of the Special Grand Jury.

Are the international criminals too big for the DOJ to charge or indict?

Is it all just a facade to appease the left, who believe that justice applies to everyone and no one is above the law?

After all, what laws did Donald Trump break? More importantly, what crimes can be proven in court?

Is there anyone in America strong enough to challenge the criminals that are in the process of destroying our democracy?

To be honest, I'm not so sure.

A question about simultaneous indictments?

Is it possible to have an indictment from the state and from the Federal government at the same time?

For example, could Trump be indicted for the Federal crime of obstruction of justice and be indicted for tax fraud at the state level?

If the Senate does not approve a 1/6 Commission, the AG should appoint a Special Counsel?

They cannot be permitted to sweep it under the rug. Also, they should not be able to delay it for a couple of months, and still insist it be done by the end of the year, either.

It is time to get serious with this matter.

Everybody knows what happened. It just needs to be validated by the DOJ.

Let the Republicans know ahead of time what is going to happen. If they attempt to block this Commission, a Special Counsel will be appointed.

I watched the whole thing.

It took me a while to get thru it all but I wanted to see how many times he mentioned Mike Pence during his speech? Because I was curious as to why the mob was yelling "Hang Mike Pence", as they attacked our Capitol. (He mentioned the necessity for Pence to do the right thing about 4 or 5 times, by my count.) This was important.

His speech went on for over 70 minutes. At approximately the 50:00 minute mark, he began a litany of lies that went on for more than 10 minutes! The numbers that he quoted were meant to deceive his supporters and to incite them to violence. There is no doubt in my mind after I carefully watched this full video.

Is there anything that would be "too far" for the Republicans?

After what has transpired in the last 6 months, it's hard to envision anything that would awaken them from their criminal slumber?

They didn't bat an eye when their Leader was saying that the election was going to be stolen. They excused it in the name of "free speech".

When he tried to extort a GA elected official on tape, they never had a second thought.

When he was inviting right-wing extremists to Washington on the day of the Electoral Vote count, they were silent.

When the extremists attacked our Capitol in an attempted coup, they pretended they were "concerned" for a short while. It took their Leader a week or two to herd them all back together. Now, they don't want to know anything else about it. They are ready to put the halt to any type of Commission.

Now, they have a member of House comparing the wearing of a mask, during a pandemic, to the Nazi holocaust. If they have to wear a mask, or check their guns at the door, it's like being put into a concentration camp!

It's difficult to think of anything that might get them to open their eyes and their minds.
